This thread is going around another fed I'm in, and I'm curious how our better-than-average group here is doing. My series is all but a lock, the real question is if I'll stay undefeated, and that relies on my last match (week 14).

Standins so far are:
1. RTFC 33 points, +50 GD
2. Kirilenko Fans 24 points, +22 GD
3. Sport club 21 points, +11 GD
4. ChickChasers 18 points, +3 GD
5. The Interns 11 points, -9 GD
6. Castilla 10 points, -11 GD
7. orange cats 9 points, -40 GD
8. Team Gooch 3 points, -26 GD

My next two matches are versus Sport club and orange cats at home. The last is versus ChickChasers away. Sport club got their team last week, and Kirilenko Fans is due to be replaced around Monday.

I think it's probably safe to say that ChickChasers can come up and get at LEAST 3rd, possibly 2nd depending on how GD plays out. Their next two matches are home versus Team Gooch (who sold all his players and bought all new ones about 1/3 way through the season, I'm pretty sure he's trying to demote) and away versus Sport club, so those 2 should be easy.

Which leaves his match with me in week 14, where we'll play at his home. I could MOTS it and fairly guarantee a win and an autopromote, or play normal and possibly lose and either autopromote or play a qual game. I haven't decided what I'm going to do quite yet, but I'm honestly not concerned, either.

Barring anything wholly unforseen I'll win the series. Then it's all up in the air based on what happens with my u20 potential GK and my SERIOUS need for an improved midfield.

In IV.10, it seems as though no one really wants to win the series as we have the lowest point total for 1st place teams in Div. IV.

My next game is against nkp765 which will be harder than the standings show because he PICed his last game in preperation for me, oh joy. I'm at home though, so I should be able to pull it out.

After that, I play the under-acheiving Failing Fanatics at home in a match that really scares me. Not sure if I'll win this one or not.

The final match of the season will be for all the marbles as we travel to Joliet Prison's place to try to hopefully lock up 1st place. Not sure if we'll come out of this one alive.

Predicted finish: 3rd

Pretty tight at the top with yours truly hanging in third. I am going to normal at Catahoula's this week, then MOTS DireWolves at home and PIC the Destroyers away the final week. I'm trying to win the whole thing now, but i'll probably finish 2nd or 3rd depending on the next two weeks results.

I beat The Beatdown Collective twice already this season, and my goal differential advantage (+59 vs +34) combined with the fact that I play F C Toronto this week, and they usually pull NSIs around 50, should mean a second consecutive IV.18 title for the Dragons... :)

I'm very confident that the Dragons will be playing in III next season :)

Grundle 5 replaced the series leader three weeks ago, has lost its first three matches 17-0, and hasn't logged in since May 5. I suspect they will not hold the lead. Transcending Select is the only other team being actively managed... we're almost a shoo-in for the series title.

After that, the tank is calling me. (Assuming I'd have a chance of winning the qualifier in the first place.) The current team has just about reached its ceiling at a 50 NSI, and there will be no funds to improve it until near the end of next season.

The top three are locked into those positions with only three matches and nine points remaining. Down the list, there's some suspense as to whether long-time series member Stingers will stick or not... I'd be sad to see them go down, but they are not really actively managed.

So here's how it looks for the top three:
Flashotcite is the most talented team in the series, amply demonstrated by the V-leading 99 they pulled MOTSing against me last week. They've caught some bad beats to fall into third place, but with Brays and ole playing in week 14, they're virtually into second place already. They close at Grand Rapids, home to vick tyme's, and at Stingers; I don't expect any of them to put up a fight.

ole demoted from IV. They're game, and might even have a slight edge on me as they've taken more points out of Flashotcite than I did. ole is home the next two weeks against Ojo Rojo F.C. and Stingers; both should be opportunities to PIC in preparation for the showdown at Braesmont Park in week 14.

Brays Bayou FC (me) is looking at the toughest slate of remaining games. We start with a home match with New Bremen Chickens, a defense trainer and always an upset threat. They seldom lose lopsided matches, and their draw with Flashotcite provides me with my current margin in the series. At Ojo Rojo F.C. should be an easy match, and then we close it out at home with ole.

Winning out puts the series in the hands of Brays or ole. I'm expecting us to be closely matched, I was lucky to get a win at their place in week 1. I'm hopeful that the home field advantage will be enough to carry the day. Most likely, a qualifier would follow, and since I would have to MOTS ole I have no realistic expectation of winning.

Flashotcite needs some help but is still well-positioned. Not only are they heavily favored against their remaining opponents, but none of them are even what I'd consider serious upset threats. With Brays matched up against two good teams in three weeks, chances are pretty good that Flashotcite will also capture the lead in goal differential. The result is that with a draw between Brays and ole, they would sneak out the series title and play a promotion qualifier. With three PICs going in, they would have to be considered a real threat to win the qualifier and promote. Although they sit in third place right now in the table, with the ole-Brays match left on the calendar, they really have to be considered the de facto second-place team.

I would like to point out that Waterloo FC is head-and-shoulders above anyone else in my series. They finished 5th in III last season and threw their qually. The only reason the series is close is because they focused on the Cup (where they lost in the Elite 8 to KCW) and played a bunch of backups in league.

That all being said, I predict Waterloo is gonna win my series and I'm going to finish in 3rd. Reseda, trainer of Nathan Longoria, has matches against #5 at home, #8 away, and #4 at home. They should win all 3, though our own Doug5984 should give them a run in the last match. I have matches against Dougy at home, #6 away, and Waterloo at home. I fully expect to lose the last match and I might even PIC it to get Waterloo out of the series if he's close to auto-promoting.

The whole series should stay pretty much the same. Me and Reseda will probably flip, Doug will finish 4th, Rockville and GrassStains may or may not flip, and who really cares who finishes 7th and who finishes 8th?

Very competitive series, as you can tell. I pulled out a miracle upset over Dark Shadows last week to virtually clinch a top 6 spot. We hope to officially sew it up at home against Deadmeat (who isn't very good, but could MOTS) this week. After that, it's at Vampires, and home against AC Weezer, both games which where we'll be underdogs, but have some small chance of winning.

Regardless, we're PICing from here on in. Gotta have TS as high as we can get it (which isn't all that high considering our piss-awful coach) for a potential qualifier. But a top 4 finish is still not out of the question at all. I'm hoping to avoid it, but it isn't out of the question. :)

Galesburg needs 1 measly point in the 3 remaining games to clinch the series. Almost certainly going to be a qualifier, so I'm hoping I at least draw against a tough opponent this Sunday, and breeze through the last 2 games.

And then the chance for Galesburg to hit III cometh. Whee.

The Saints have nearly clinched the division title with a 9 point lead on second place and 12 goal advantage in differential.

I am also 5 points above the autopromotion. I finish with CC's Dragons, Thunderchickens, and Los Chixi Dix. Should I not get a few terribly unfortunate losses, I will be stuck in division III next season.

I'll likely end up right where I am. The other teams in the top five play each other this week while I have a very likely win at home againt #6. I lucked out this season by promoting to a league where half the teams have very poor midfields for IV. I could end up as high as second although it would be a shock.

Tonight is my group's final so to speak, as I, fantastic flying froggies, host Nostromo Utd. He beat me 2-1 in the first leg, and has since that had 2 ties, and many wins where he barely made it. I believe he PICed a lot of those games (average of 61.5 NSI on the season)
That loss at his hands has been my only bad result. Since that, I have improved my team and my TS (average 65.5 on the season). Needless to say I am MOTSing tonight.

For the first time, I expect a full house at my new stadium of 48,001 seats. A win will all but clinch the division and likely promotion for me.

My remaining 2 games will be at Patou and vs Le Mans, game I should normally win.

Auto-promotion is essentially locked-up. I've never lost a DVI game, 20 wins running now. I'll play Carmine in penultimate game at home. Beat him 4-1 at his place in a game I PICed. I'll be at home and MOTSing, so it should be a rout.

Do you know if it doesn't work using Netscape?
I just learned what to do. Go to your FOFC User CP, choose 'Edit Options.' Scroll down to 'Miscellenaous' and enable the Enhanced options. That worked for me just now.

I'm currently sitting third in the table. I've got a shot at winning the series or finishing 5th and having to play a qualification match. All in all i think i've done pretty well in my first season in DIV. I'll be MOTSing against Maples this weekend because i have a walkover/PIC coming up next week. That should leave me in pretty good shape for my final match against the Cheap Bastards on the road. I could very well win out and probably take the series, but i'll be happy with 2 out of 3 and a top 4 finish

Hippos haven't won a meaningful game all season but were somehow in 2nd quite a bit of the way. I think it's because we won all of our games with the middle talent of the series (Stormy_Gales, Iowa, Golden Beers) when we needed them, particularly at home.

This week I've got the Hotspurs and I should win that handily unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong and that clinches me 21 points and at least a qualifier. Useful since I think I lose my last two games: vs Oompa-Loompas and @ Golden Beers.

We've all been going up and down in the ratings this year so it's hard to predict. A team will be down one week and up the next. For instance, the Hippos have been between 70 and 83. The Oompas, in particular, are an enigma as they looked like they were rebuilding as they sold off some top caliber talent and they've gone from low 80s early in the season to triple digits.

Myself and Golden Beers, in particular, have capitalized on this and have only been scoring in the mid 70s but stand in 2nd and 3rd at this point while more talented Iowa flounders in relegation land after an ill-advised MotS and the Oompas just got into the top 4. I don't think we're going to have anyone promote out this season as Kaishaku strikes me as the kind of team who would throw a qualifier despite the fact that they can hit triple digits when they're not running off strings of ill-conceived MotS's.

So, I figured our best shot is at 4th-ish depending on how everyone else plays their games and it really wouldn't break my heart to play another qualifier this season and get the extra week of training. System's broke, I tells ya. I shouldn't be sitting here, trying to decide if I should throw a match because it actually helps me. In the end, I won't do it, but it's still just frustrating that 5th and 6th are rewarded more than 2nd-4th.

MOTS all the way... I know he probably has a better midfield than I do, and he's most probably going to MOTS too, so I don't really have a choice.
Brief haltime update. I'm leading 2-1 at the half, with 58% possession which is very good news, because I really thought I would lose the midfield.
Plus he's pressing, so he should have stamina problems at the end of the game.

In other french league news, both Alf and BreizhManu are tied at the half.
Alf 1-1 vs Peoplers, 61% possession for Alf
BzhManu 2-2 vs Micka21's team, 71% possession for Manu

I predict that they will both win their game.

Im in first with games remaining on the road against both Expedit(this week) and dragonsFC(final week). The top 4 teams all put up ratings in the high 60s - mid 70s. I tried to put the series away by using a MOTS 2 weeks ago when I was on the road against Bruchahs. However, despite better ratings I only managed to tie the game.

I have not decided if I want to risk using a MOTS again. If I can win this week I will clinch 1st, but if I cant it all comes down to the final week of the season.

My (Dovienya) chances at winning the series went out the window in week 7, when a MOTS combined with a pair of new midfielders left me 2 goals and 5 NSI short against TuS Pewsum. The bottom three teams in my series are absolutely horrid, (33,43,25 NSI last week) and Pewsum plays two of them to end the year, meaning unless I can catch him cheating and get his team locked and replaced, I'm not winning this season. ;)

It works out pretty well, since I was aiming toward next season for promotion, and as long as I don't have some 90 NSI bear coming down from IV next season, I should be okay. My last couple of trainees from my first group will be sold, and I'll be in a groove. The biggest thing that will happen before next season is that I'll be replacing my passable keeper with a formidable, and my GA should drop some.

Any of you VI teams in the USA, this is a series you wouldn't mind promoting to. The top 3 teams have training regimes, the middle 2 have crappy training (same guys, older guys, lazy about friendlies, that sort of thing) and the bottom 3 have been a rotation of people signing in and quitting.

You might be able to make it in V with a 50 NSI depending where you promote.
he'd be sitting around 4-6 in v.19 with a 50nsi. I opened this season in v.19 with a 55 nsi and have improved to a 61-64 NSI club during the season...

My best winning streak has come in division 4. I have won 13 straight league matches. My only lost since week 11 of last season, was in the cup.

My league is very hard. Consistently is top 5/10 at Hatstats, and except for White Sands every team puts up 80+. My ratings were down because of a low TS PIC, and Russian Alcoholics beacuse they played a 3-4-3. Day Dreamers is a defense trainer who focused on the cup, but puts up 100+ NSI regularly with a triple divine defense. Good luck to whatever DV series he demotes to. There are two other defense trainers and I train GK's (for about 5 more weeks,) so its one of the most defense-oriented HT series. I'll be normaling Day Dreamers this week with a 3-4-3 and a win guarantees I get at least a qualifier. Then I get ECW, which I may normal or MOTS before closing out against FC White Sands, which I should be able to PIC and win. Or I could just PIC both games after this week and go into a qualifier with high TS.

yahoo! up 3-0 at halftime with 55% possession. 4th place team is losing to 2nd place 6-0 at the half. 1st place phate are up 2-0 despite only having 28% (both goals were CA goals). Hopefully he tries that next week against me because I'm PICing the match, I'll be on the road and I'm running a 5-3-2 against instead of the usual 3-5-2 so I know I'll lose possession to him.

Well, a dangerous match for BBFC has come and gone, and we're still in first and only gave up one goal of differential to Flashotcite, as we beat NBC 3 - 0 and they beat Grand Rapids 4 - 0. Considering our relative opposition, I'd feared much worse. Barring a WTF, we go into the last week against ole with it all on the line, and if Hatstats would only finish updating, I could find out how many teams are between me and autopromotion.

Its going to be a tough final week for me.

I play nick999 next, and then I get our very own Indos at home. The second place team gets Kingz, and Hxc4jc.

I will win this next week, but the final match is still up in the air. Indos puts up good defensive ratings, although not better than Walleye. I will probably win the midfield battle handily, and I expect him to CA against me. Im hoping my recently upgraded team will domintate him on offense, and give me a win. Im in a perilous situation, since I need that win in order to auto-promote, however If I MOTS and lose, and dont fall two second, my qualifier would be shot.
