Firstly, I should say that Snuzers have been my nemesis in roughly the same way the "Evil" Gargs have tormented the South Park Cows. Secondly, he injured my two best players and beat me 5-0 at his place earlier in the season. I was a point behind in the standings, and in need of a victory today when this went down . . .

1ST HALF

Casper van de Broek really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal after a corner, but he lost his nerve.

Snuzers took the lead after 8 minutes with 0 - 1. Randall Parrish placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.

Michael Gates of Snuzers received a yellow card in the 13th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Manhattan tried to reply with long plays towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitor´s defence got the best of it.

Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 24:th minute Snuzers goal, making it 0 - 2. Dariusz Dlugopolski was noted down as the scorer.

Eduard Radu of Manhattan received a yellow card in the 28:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Snuzers´ Dariusz Dlugopolski received a play slashing through the home side´s defense in the 39:th minute, chipping it past the keeper scoring 0 - 3.

The home crowd was not pleased with that one. By now Snuzers were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead.

Jeffrey Lopes of Snuzers received a yellow card in the 39:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Manhattan´s Ulf Borgbrant got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge putting the away teams lead down to 1 - 3.

The referee showed Manhattan's Ubaldo Matildo Collado the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.

Snuzers were forced to a substitution as Göte Nieminen couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Eduardo Vilhena to come in from the sidelines.

The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 3. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Manhattan, with an impressive 54 percent possession of the ball.

2nd HALF

The home crowd brightened somewhat when Stijn Jeanblanc scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the numbers 2 to 3.

Manhattan's Cristof Lentz got himself booked after a foul.

Snuzers were forced to a substitution as Randall Parrish couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Philipp Thiede to come in from the sidelines.

After 84 minutes of play Cristof Lentz equalised for Manhattan after an elegant attack from the right.

Snuzers' Philipp Thiede got himself booked after a foul.

The home side put themselves ahead 4 - 3 in the 86:th by a breakthrough from Cristof Lentz, who unaided came in out of the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors keeper.

In the 86:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Eduard Radu dashed through, knocking home 5 - 3 for Manhattan.

The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Manhattan, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.

Nonsense. I was down to the SoccerWussies 3-0 at the half. Won 5-3. :)

At least you scored in the first half. :)

Yeah, but my last two opponents are a new team and a walkover, so I went from finishing 3rd to winning the series title barring a miracle. I can also PIC my last two games to get my TS up for my qualifier.

The best I've done is coming back to draw Yinzers United 3-3 after being down 0-3 at halftime.

Had a match back in the day...we went up 3-0, they came back to 4-3, we tied at 4-4, and they won 5-4 at the end.

Had another like that, but I remember that one vividly. Was the final match of my first season. Couldn't freakin' believe it.

Still my favorite comeback in SSFC history:

FIRST HALF

The referee showed Screamin's Charlie Bautista the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.

Gazzaly were forced to a substitution as Zeb Queen couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Michael Yates to come in from the sidelines.

Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 20:th minute goal by Bryan Vargas for Gazzaly, putting them ahead 1 - 0.

In the 26:th minute Gazzaly put themselves up 2 - 0. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Roland Mcintyre coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home.

The structure of the game started to change as Gazzaly decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone.

The teams went for a half-time break at 2 - 0. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Gazzaly, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.

SECOND HALF

Screamin' showed some good morale and were, in the 79:th minute, able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 as Johannes Henriksson got past the home sides full backs straight in front of the goal.

Richard Song was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was saved by the keeper. However, Gazzaly´s Kirby Marcus managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 3-1 goal.

In the games 83rd minute Screamin' replied, reducing the lead to 3 - 2. Charlie Bautista scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left.

The visitors didn´t give in and after 85 minutes Forrest Tobias got through the home sides central line of defense, rolling in the levelling goal to make it 3 - 3.

After 89 minutes Screamin's Forrest Tobias made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 3 - 4.

In the 89:th minute Screamin's Lucian Tere received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Gazzaly were forced to a substitution as Bryan Vargas couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Demesio Gallegos to come in from the sidelines.

The home crowd were tearing their hair as Roland Mcintyre missed a penalty shot by miles in the 90:th minute.

Screamin', bringing the final ball possession rate to 51 percent, dominated the battle.

Damn near gave me a heart attack. :)

These matches just go to show that pulling back = kiss of death.

Only if you don't have the defense to back it up...which most teams don't.

Another favorite of mine was the qualifier I won to promote to DIV. I believe it ended in a 5-4 victory for me, but I might be wrong. If I'm right, I went up 4-0 quickly, only to watch Irish FC chip away at my lead in the 2nd half.

In one awesome match I played, both teams pulled back. First my opponent pulled back, then I roared back to take the lead and my team pulled back.

Just checked my match archive, it was an intra-FOFC friendly with Spring Grove Fighting Eagles, matchid 17751849, Spring Grove pulled back at 2 - 0, Brays pulled back at 2 - 5, final score was 3 - 5.

I loathe 'pulling back the troops':

Maulers took the lead by 1 - 0 after a penalty in the 3rd minute. Kendall Arsenault (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/PlayerDetails.asp?playerID=22112965) scored from the penalty spot. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Maulers lead up with 2 - 0. Johnnie Mohr (http://www12.hattrick.org/Common/PlayerDetails.asp?playerID=22112963) finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. By now Maulers were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. In the 18:th minute

Second goal scored after 16 minutes. Defend the lead after 16 minutes? Nonsense. Way to early to go defensive. Final score was only 3-1 versus a team I should have buried. This is one of the worst features of Hattrick game engine.

Agreed. Pulling back should not occur until at least halftime, barring extreme circumstances (4+ goal lead again obviously inferior opposition).

Ahh, my favorite come back story in my HT time.. of course it was against me, but still. ;)

CC immediately set off pressing their opponents. CC took the lead in the 10:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Mark Möllerén elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Daryl Brantley increased CC´s lead to 2 - 0 from a penalty spot cannonball. Maniacals Benton Minter got himself booked after a foul. CC were forced to a substitution as Michael Roberts couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Willard Mcneil to come in from the sidelines. At this time in the match, CC were using their skills at the press to successfully put pressure on their opponents. CC's Jeffrey Wheatley scored 3 - 0 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. Maniacal showed some good morale and were, in the 39:th minute, able to reduce the score to 3 - 1 as Martin Devátý got past the home sides full backs straight in front of the goal. As Jeffrey Wheatley had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the CC player a red card without batting an eye. Ismael Ferreira da Silva the unlucky victim, couldn´t continue the game, so Naftali ben Aharon had to come off the bench. In the games 41st minute Maniacal replied, reducing the lead to 3 - 2. Naftali ben Aharon scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. 3 - 2 was the half-time score. Maniacal, bringing the final ball possession rate to 55 percent, dominated the battle.
58 minutes into the game Maniacal´s Emanuel Miller found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 3 - 3. The referee showed Maniacals Istvan Strobl the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the 70:th minute Clarence Alvarado surprised the opponents with a 40 metre pass to Doru Manole who quite easily could settle the score to 4 - 3. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Clarence Alvarado squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 75:th minute, asserting the lead to 5 - 3. Maniacal reduced in the 77:th minute to 5 - 4 as Istvan Strobl easily chipped the ball past the home sides keeper on a play from the right. Sören Fjälling of CC received a yellow card in the 77:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Visitors Martin Devátý was alert on a play coming in from the left, making the score a tie at 5 - 5 in the 82nd minute. Sören Fjälling of CC got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Maniacal, with an impressive 85 percent possession of the ball.

Hehe.. 2 redcards and dominated in the second half... up 3-0, then tied 3-3, then up 5-3, ended 5-5.

Vex had me down 4-1 in the 81st minute, and I managed a draw. I think Vex is still annoyed. At least I hope so.
