... through my head.

Purge my team except for my keepers, and buy all head specialists 17 yrs old with at least inadequate scoring, and train set pieces. Any thoughts?

Pretty certain you would regret it after about a week.

dola,

and inadequate to passable passing.
The market seems to be loaded with these types of players.

Why's that? I've been training keepers for a long time now, want something new and challenging.

I was just thinking thats a pretty drastic step to take if you want to change your training.

Wasn't really meaning to discourage, just sounds like one of those decisions you regret shortly after trying it.

Yeah, I probably get my butt handed to me in match play, friedlies, and cup, but what the hey get out of div.v, go to div. 6, then not worry to much about winning or losing.

This is all ideas, nothing set in stone.

Has anybody trained shooting over a peiod of time to see if it acually improves value of players?

I'm also think about switching to scoring training maybe. New and challenging.

You could always start training shooting and develop your own test study ;)

I just switched to scoring after watching the wife's team and becoming convinced that decent midfield and insane scoring usually means a win. Midfield looks like it really is losing its importance somewhat, although very slowly.

Wife's ratings a couple weeks ago. She PIC'd and had pretty crappy form in her midfield. She says she should be putting up an inadequate midfield in her PICs. This is her 2nd full season playing.

Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: world class
Central Attack: titanic
Left Side Attack: excellent

Her goal differential so far this season:
73 - 18

Plus she just told me that she'll be selling off 2 scorers this offseason and should net 4-5 million for them.

Yeah. I know it does something for scoring and set pieces.

If I did go the scoring route I would have to purge about 6 players, instead of most of the roster.

Nobody seems to know how long shooting takes to train, or if it improves value. >>thinking hmm<<

i think you should train general for an extended period of time

Yeah, only go so far with that. :D

or you could train stamina and try and get someone higher than formidable... that would be cool

Passing is important for that many goals also, right?

Yeah, and suffer the wrath from the form gods. :D

She says her passing isn't all that great right now. Middies and wingers are all passable, but she only has 1 starting forward with inadequate passing. Her trainees have much better passing though.

If you wanted an "intermediate-drastic" change of training, I'd suggest buying 4 17yo inadequate/passable wingers, 6 inadequate/passable 17yo IM's, and 4 inadequate/passable forwards, all with passable or solid passing.

You could probably start up for a cost of around $1.5-$2mil, if you bought early-mid season.

Then train passing for 3 seasons.

You'd have a market on those types of players cornered, meaning you might get some really weird prices. Plus, your attacks would improve faster than scoring trainers'.

this weird thing is one I've been thinking about. Players with Passing skills above Excellent are rarer than hen's teeth. I've been searching the transfer wires recently and have found three.

My thought is that Passing improves attack and CA. I would play a 3 defender formation and use my 3 starting defenders at MF in the friendly so they are eliglible for Passing training. You would train 14 players per week in Passing that way. Certainly uncharted territory.
