I just sold my youth pull from last week and that got me wondering how I had done for the year so far, as I am not into this thing like some with the Excel stuff and all to be able to pull the info right up whenever I want (no, that's not a knock on anyone, for those with thinner skins :) ). So far this year:
I have had 7 pulls that I actually sold
only 3 of these were for more than $20k to make my money back for the week of what I put into the squad
total sales for the year so far- $1,921,666
total profit after agent and stuff- $1,767,933 or so
Of course, almost all of that was one pull, a 17 year old excellent that sold for $1.8 million+. If not for that one lucky pull, the next most I got for anyone was $25k. So, it was a crappy year besides him, but I did have him, so I did ok.
How about your luck...or lack thereof?

This has been by far my best season with youth pulls.
I have sold 4 which has given me a total profit on the season of $107,576. I am currently training a fifth who probably would have sold for about 35K.
My best pull was a 17yo solid scorer, inad passer who sold for a very low $306K.

Season 22
Number of youth pulls sold - 10
Total Sales - $510,005
Average Price - $51,500
I should say that those figures are inflated by one player sleeling for $373,000 - which represented 73% of the income.

I never pulled anything decent before this season, but now I have been blessed with luck. I will never complain about my youth squad again. Week one and two solid PMers lead the pack, followed up with the 17 year old solid keeper I pulled last week(who has now been trained to excellent and is relisted for 500k).
6 Players sold
$3,752,000 in total sales
And here they are-
Guy Sykes - $2,242,000
George Chung - $841,000
Emory Christensen - $95,000
Rob Williams - $76,000
Mich Giordano - $6,000
Neil Blount - $492,000

Season 22
14 Players
Average Value : 32 357
Number sold : 5
Total sales : 1 192 001 € (a 17 yrs old Solid defender sold for 882k)
Number kept : 2 (semi-clown and solid winger)
So that gives me 7 players either sold or kept, 1 out of 2 is a good rating.

Had 5 I sold for a total of $400k and another I kept to train who would have sold for about $200k. This is the first season I have been able to turn a profit without counting money from a player I trained up and sold.

I think the reason for the youth squad shouldn't be steady, long-term profit. Rather, it should be to get a player like T.E. Almighty's, where you get a boatload of unexpected cash right away that allows a significant addition to your squad, or to pull a U-20 player and be able to train him up without paying millions.

Sales:
Rang Shi: $1,000
Michael Wilks: $62,000
Jon Shaver: $48,000
Don Seay: $23,000
Manuel Mayorga: $5,000
Thomas Comer: $166,000
Eloy Perkins: $638,000
Subtotal: $994,500
Total (after agent fees and last club taken out): $914,940
Mother club money: $51,500
Total gain: $966,440
Weekly cost*: $264,000
Transfer listing fees: $7,000
Total loss: $271,000
Net: +$695,440
*Weekly cost is 12 weeks of paying $20,000 to the youth club and $2,000 for promoting a player
Eloy Perkins was a 17 yo solid/solid wingback pulled a few weeks ago. he was trained 1 week at defense and bumped to excellent and then re-sold. That's where all the mother club money came from.
This season isn't over either. I pulled an 18 yo passable PMer this week and Michael Wilks is currently being re-sold... so I should get more mother club money.
Edit: Oh yeah... I forgot that I pulled an 18 yo solid scorer too. I'm working on training him to formidable. He's currently excellent+2.

Only 5 players were sellable, 3 of those sold for 2000 or less, and I didn't keep any. Of course one of the five went for 5M, so my yearly total of 5.25 million!

In my second season I had a Solid squad all year long and sold 4 players for $500,500 with one going for $412,500. that's my total profit on a grand total of 23 weeks (from inception) of investing 20k per week, so I'm a little behind. But things are looking better.

Actually that is pretty good. If you take out the sale of a trainee for 6.6+ mil, I have lost several hundred k on my youth squad and I am more than two full seasons into excellent.

I haven't made too much, though my YP from towards the end of last year, Rodney Grant, is estimated to be worth $2.5 mill on the transfer market by HAM, though I am intent on holding on to him.

Total Cost: 260000
Total Income: 837000
Easily my most successful season with roughly $500K in profit after fees.
Cost for other seasons: 215000, 320000, 320000, 320000
Income for other seasons: 1000, 589000, 758000, 589000
So my total income in previous seasons also amounts to just over $500K for a total of about $1M over nearly 5 seasons. This doesn't take into account Thomas Little who is a product of my system who I could probably have sold for $300K at the time but I kept and will sell for at least $5M when I finish training him in the next season or two.

This is my first season with a solid youth squad.
total investments for the year should be $360000. That is figured by $20k and $2K every week for investments and the cost to pull, but I dont always pull a player worth selling, so that is why I didnt figure in all the transfer listing fees, only the ones i have used so far.
from sales i have made $415990. so thats a $54990 profit. But i havent sold all my players. this doesnt include a solid keeper and 2 passable defenders that i am currently still using on my team. so i would say my youth squad has been very successful so far.

Hmm, I wish nobody had brought this subject up. I thought I'd done OK this season, but after taking a closer look...
Out of 13 players :
kept none
sold 6 for total sales of 285 k€ (not counting agent fees)
fired 7 losers
At 22 k€ investmnet per week, no return on investment this season...
