01-06-2004 Expanding leagues
We've made up our minds for what leagues are going to be expanded for next season. Among other things, we'll see 3 more nations reach the 35.000 teams level. Will Spain, Netherlands or Argentina finally catch up with the Swedes in the season to come? The new levels will be availble within 2 weeks.

Expanding to 35496 teams

After the new leagues last week, here's the list of expansions for next season. Hopefully, this will not cause any server problems in what has become a relatively stable environment.

i personally was surprised to see spain was that large of a hattrick country. i never find any good players on their transfer wire. you would think that if the country was larger, the more quality players would be listed. maybe they just dont train what i have been looking for.

I've been keeping an occasional eye on the number of U.S. teams in Hattrick since I started playing in 2002. If the United States continues the rate of growth we've shown since the January 1st of this year, we will not be slated for expansion until 2006. We're gaining 8.34 teams per day, but there are about 5800 open teams. It'll be approximately 700 days before we're full.

Just some food for thought. It's no wonder we're falling behind with our national teams.

I alway find good deals in Espana, Keepers and Forwards mainly though.

I seem to find a lot of Spanish players in other countries...

In my experience, Argentina has the worst market of the three.

DK only our U20 has fallen behind. But things are so even in U20 competition these days. There is no dominant team anymore.

We still have a top 3 national team in my opinion. It's just been a very long time since it has been managed properly.

I agree with TP. Once you hit a certain critical mass, it really doesn't matter in my opinion. Everything is divine, strategy becomes important. 5000+ combined with experience is more than enough to remain competitive.

All divines are not created equal. Certainly, the inability to distinguish limits the abilities of the NT coach, but the finality of the divine rating description-wise certainly does not extend to game effects.

My point was that at a certain amount of players, everyone starts off at a relatively equal base. So it is then up to the coach to think of a unique strategic plan. Norway in the last WC for example.

Good points TP. This U-20 World Cup is proving just how even things are across the board. Heck, U-20 Sweden might not even make it past the first round of Group Play.

im hoping the "soon to be" heavier importance on passing will affect this. maybe some players will now be forced to train something other than their main skill every week while on a u20 or national team. then hopefully it will put more strategy into training. anyway, its just a hope since personally i cant into the world cup level games because its boring looking at all divine ratings for every team.

Actually DK, U20 Sweden didn't get past the first group in the last U20 WC either.
