Starting before this season, my second year QB had the total rating of 56/56. Well it seems that every week he picks up between 1 and 2 points on his "total rating." After 8 weeks in the season he is now 68/68. I have noticed that he does not pick up points if he does not play. I am using a mentor, so I am willing to bet that it is a big factor in his improvement. But still its pretty odd for a guy to "maxed" out and gradually getting better still.

Maxed out just means the guy has reached what your scout thought his potential was. Maybe your scout sucks?

Of course, guys can simply get better than anyone ever thought they would.

I think that there is a lot of food for thought in that post, esp. re: mentors and not getting better when he does not play. I don't think that anyone has done that kind of study before.

High volatility maybe is a factor as well, those guys can either be a lot worse or a lot better than you initially thought.

I find in TCY the max ratings only provide a WAg on the end and when guys reach it they sometimes keep going. It happens this way in FOF sometimes, but not as much, and only for younger guys.

I have a CB that is in the same situation.

He was a 78/78 going into week 1 and is now a 84/84 after 7 weeks.

Another CB I have went up 2/2 in the last 2 weeks.

I have a CB mentor.
