It must be you!!

I am finding out the numbers so we can work out the format of the competition!

What else do you want to know!!?

Dates of possible games, are international teams being invited, how many games will be played.

Those three things seem fairly important to me, since there are only two friendlies left this season before cup starts again, your not going to get a lot of bites if it's now, especially since many people already have friendlies arranged. Then you have the issue that we ourselves run our own cup after the USA cup happens, which makes it even harder to find open dates that teams from here can participate.

Thats the reason I need to find out how many teams are wanting to participate, so we can decide when the cup will start, how many groups there will be, how many weeks the cup will go on for.

All I wanted was some interest to get numbers.

Personally, I'm interested in knowing who "our" is. What team are you with and what group is doing this cup? And why start a cup so late in the season, with the country cups starting soon?

afcwednesday, this community has 145 ranked in its weekly rankings, of which probably close to a hundred are either posting regularly or at least read here quite.

We are close to playing the final round of the 6th edition of the FOFC Cup, so you gotta understand that a guy that shows up for the first time in here and goes "you wanna play in our new competition" is gonna be asked a few questions...

As lytic said so eloquently, hi :)

Welcome to our world ;)

FM - in the future can we limit outsiders coming in and posting for cup competition. I think it could get out of control quickly.

I don't see how we could stop it w/o just deleting posts.

People would lose posts. That is far too drastic a course of action.

Maybe start a CUP Sticky for advertisements. Course you don't have to read them... I think it's rare that someone start a cup and advert here anyway.
Whatever, not a big deal in my book.

Remember though, we are the Hattrick Community section (1 of 10 forums I might readd) and people are finding their way here because Hattrick Devs think we do a good job.

This if the first time we've had somebody come here and advertise for a cup competition. I felt like it was probably better to explain a bit what we are and how we work.

For some time, I've been thinking about making some sort of all-inclusive thread, with links to interesting info we've gathered, but also with some info as to what is all right and what isn't. Sort of what's what of FOFC Hattrick...

Right now, the transfer market listings have been controlled and the Cup competition ads, well ad, have not been too much of a problem, but I agree that being listed in the Community section of HT may bring many new posters in here.

I'm still cogitating what I'll do about it...

A Cup sticky may be the way to go, or a link in the future all-inclusive thread... As I said, I'm thinking about it...

Yeah and we know how well the transfer threads kept ads from cluttering up the forum.

what's the matter Nyar? You still pissed that somebody posted a transfer ad about a player that was of a high level, and I let it go?

I saw that thread, decided to let it go since the player was of a level that we don't often see, my call, sorry you didn't like it.

I'd say the transfer threads are pretty much doing their job, for people used to them. We've had new people come in here and post transfer ads, I've deleted the threads and personally PMed the thread starters, giving them instructions to post in the right thread.

I will get working, read working here and working for me means it's losing part of the fun, on a sort of entry page kind of thread giving instructions to new posters (and old ones alike), but even with that kind of thing, people will come in here, register in 20 seconds and start posting an ad if they want to. Not much I can do about it...

As I said, sorry you didn't like that thread staying there, but you can let it go now, I got the message...
