Don't know if this is really progress, but thought I'd pass it along for all those of us still holding out hope for the next reincarnation of Front Page Football.http://www.maximum-football.com/

This game is going to be missing too many key things such as season to season progress, aging algorithms, etc. unless I'm misunderstanding something?

Hmm, multiplayer Arena Football...

Supposedly, the code is going to be released to key third-party programmers to fill in those gaps. The hope is that it will be open-ended enough to engender long-term support and modding, the 'next-step up" that Front Page Football never quite got to.

I hope the game is good enough to engender that level of support and modding. However, I'm skeptical. I do hope that I'm wrong and this game turns out to be a very good game and comes close to approaching Front Page Football's level of addictiveness.

This game is really annoying to me - and is even a bit irresponsible.

I first found out about this game about 2 years ago, and they are no closer to completing it than they were that day. It makes you think "What If", but I'm coming to the conlusion that this will become vaperware.

That's basically why I posted this. Interested in opinions since this game has been hyped for quite awhile now. The fact that the build has finally been released has to be good news, though.

Division Rivals is in the same boat as this, slowly headed down the path of vaporware. Although Div Rivals hasn't posted squat since April, and it was a test message.

Sorry if this is a dumb question - but what is/was Division Rivals?

I really don't have a problem with not releasing a game. But don't make screen shots, impressive feature lists, etc and then say "oh well, never mind".

Either this game is in the final stages of testing or its not. And I think that is the basic question most of us wanting to get our hands on this are wondering about. But are there any other 'stealth' games on the horizon not being discussed presently? Division Rivals was mentioned, and that one does appear to be pretty much vapor-ware bound.

One other thing. Something about actually seeing the plays develope during the game makes all the difference in the world for me, regardless of how primitive the graphics might be. If FOF were to have even a very primitive graphics engine like, say, the old x's and o's of xor, would this enhance the game at all for you? How difficult would it be to add something like that anyway? Are these just dumb and useless questions I ask?

Not at all, the ability to actually have even rudimentary graphics such as the FBPro type graphics with a FOF engine would literaly make me wet my pants, and I do mean literaly.

It was a few of the top guys in the FbPro community that were upset that FbPro died. So they were trying to create the same style of game, with a better 3D engine.

In it's earlier stages it was looking like a great game, but now, as it has been a while, it is looking like a great idea.
