Goddammit!!!!

Three times today, I've tried to buy an "Outstanding" IM, because I wanna upgrade before people get their bonuses and start driving the market up. I figure it'll cost $1.4-$1.5 million, without any decent secondaries, to get one that's not pushing retirement age... (like, under 25).

Three times. And all three times, I've lost the bastard because I had to be in a meeting or otherwise distracted at work.

Maybe.

Is there an easy way to scour the wire for players in all countries? That's probably what kicks my ass the most is having to go through and look for all the guys that I might have a shot at during a typical workday (no fast ISP at home to play with).

not that i know of... however if there were the prices on players would probably even out a lot as daytrading would get almost stopped cold.

I would say that your only real option would be to just make your max bid that your willing to pay when you find the player, if it doesn't win the player, you wouldn't have gotten him anyways. Not much else you can do since work dictates your availability to do the bid war.

Eh... I got on this morning and got a guy. Not my first choice, but he'll do.

The easiest way for me is to set a max you will pay for a various skill level and then set up my 50 bookmarks (or less) by going country by country with my min requirements. The bookmarks themselves are in chronological order so that makes it easy to track when they are up no matter what country they are in.

That's also the way I go, bookmarking a bunch of players from every possible country :)

If anybody is looking for a forward with at least formidable scoring, current bid under 1.78 M U$, and usually with at least poor experience, PM me, I still have a bunch of them with deadlines coming tomorrow ;)

You need to get laid off like me. :)
Been there, done that. Got laid off in November (two weeks before Thanksgiving... thanks, VeriFone!), and didn't work until April.

Gah. I had a bid on a player who was up at 19:32 HT time. Well, I got to HT at exactly 19:32 (this was coincidental) and found out that I got outbid AND it said "bidding is finished" on the page. Oh well, guess I'll have to find another American magnificent PMer.
