Q on prize money/membership fees

Are they awarded "before" the Saturday econ update, meaning I could spend them immediately after that?

If they are, I'll have most of a day to throw $325,000 or so, counting my maximum allowable debt, at the best middie I can find in time for my qualifier. Thinking about it... :)

Unfortunately , league position and/or promotion money comes after qualifiers are over. You'll still have, what, around 250k to throw around? If you look hard, you might be able to find an excellent PM midfielder for that much with no secondaries.

If you take a look at the Important Offseason Dates (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=25929) thread I stickied at the top, it says that the money is paid at the weekly update but it also says that bonus money for promotion is paid after the qualifier. I did that list of dates and I may be wrong, but I remember checking it very carefuly when last offseason happened, so I'd have to assume it is good. That would mean the 1st place money would be given on Saturday evening, and the money for promoting would be given once the qualifiers have been played...

By the way, I seem to have discovered that no top striker bonus is paid if your guy leads the series, but had fewer goals than a "former player" from a team that went bot during the season. Oh well, it's only 10k.

That's actually in the rules. And you can buy the league leader. As long as he scores one goal for you, you'll get the 10k.
