My phone was mysteriously out on Thursday. No dial tone. So I surfed over to the Verizon web site and filled out a customer request for service.

Here's the reply I received. And I'm not making this up...

Thank you for contacting the Verizon eCenter, where we are committed to
helping you make progress every day.

We apologize for the trouble you are having with your service.

Unfortunately, our center is not equipped to address repair issues or
credit adjustments for time out of service. Please contact our Repair
Center at (800) 243-5300. A representative will be happy to assist you.

I'm dying to know exactly what this eCenter does. Fortunately, the service just as mysteriously reconnected Thursday evening. I know I'm in the dark ages by not having a cell phone, but we live in an area without coverage so we could only use it by driving about five miles anyway.

You could have made an internet call if you have a microphone and asked them how in hell do they think most people can call the Repair Center if their phone is out :)

Did you type in your order number exactly? This sounds like a copy protection problem...

I was waiting for you to show up and bemoan the fact that we don't have the QotM for stuff like this...and then I realized that it was your quote!

Good show!
