I've had my team for about 2 weeks now (played two league games). I was just going to continue my keeper training in the offseason to get more of a head start for the coming year, even if I'm only getting half the training. Is that reasonable? The only other options I really see are:

1. Stamina training - This doesn't seem like a great idea since my midfielders are already at excellent.

2. General training - Everyone seems to pan this, so I decided against doing it, but my overall team form is not too great, so it seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Does continuing to train keepers seem reasoanble?

Thanks.

You could train Set Pieces (all players will benefit). In your case , having already excellent stamina midfielders I would not train stamina & general is really not a good idea (waste of time & potential money).

Your two "real" options are :

1 - Set Pieces

2 - GK

True, I could do set pieces I suppose. If I have to balance doing that with getting a couple of extra training weeks for one of my trainees, it's probably more useful to just train one of my guys so he's ready a little sooner. Most of the players on my team won't be around for too long hopefully and my trainees have pretty ugly set pieces so they wouldn't benefit much from it.

Thanks for the input.

conclusion seems to keep training one of your GK trainees, now

i'd say set pieces myself, JAG...

It'll train everyone on your team and you will see probably 1/2 your players bump in week one and the other half the second week..

as always:
ymmv.

im in the same situation JAG. i am debating on training only a few of my defense trainees, set pieces, or stanima.

1. defense: my defense trainees would pop a week sooner and give me money from their sale a week sooner then. i have some big matches coming up early and i would like to upgrade my attack as soon as possible.
2. set pieces: I have 1 guy with solid and 1 guy with passable. everyone else's set pieces are junk and they wont gain anything. Both of the guys i mentioned should stick around another season or two, but i probably wont gain much from an excellent set piece guy over a solid one. would i?
3. stanima: all my midfielders are at excellent. only 1 winger would gain from this and a few of my defenders if i ever choose to press. the winger has solid pm and inad stanima right now. but i hate wasting a week on one guy plus the stanima training killing my form even more than the offseason does anyway.

any suggestions?

Saintjo, for myself, I am going to train PM this week (i had a qually) and Stamina next week as I have a couple of PM trainee that can use the bump. If they were all solid+ stamina then I would train set pieces.

that's just me.

all the best,

Don't waste a week of training on that. Put it into something that increases your players' skills.

Train your defense then. Don't sacrifice defense training to get your SP up when it will only really affect two players. Play a 5 defender formation and train your defenders. Definitly don't train your stamina for just one person. If you want a winger with better stamina, sell the one you have and buy one with better stamina.
