That was an unreal game!! Hudson pitched a gem, but the Cards prevail in the 9th. Wow.... I'm still shaking. :)

dammit. Oakland was supposed to hold up that last game.

Ah well. 6 in a row for the Cubs, including a 4 game sweep at Houston. The series next week should be a good one.

And oakland coming to chicago. It'll be interesting to see if this is still a wild 5 team race or if one or two teams start to pull ahead after next weekend.

The A's bullpen is so frustrating! The guys pitched great in the 8th, but for some reason Mecir decides to allow back to back hits, a hits batsman, and then Scutaro gives the cards 2 outs with his error. Then Mecir decides to throw a big piece of meat to Reggie Sanders....BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Now if only the Stro's would have won at least one game in that Cubs series, they were at home too!

Nothing matters 'till the playoffs.

Thankfully, this is one of sports where this statement isn't true. With only 4 teams per league making the playoffs, the regular season matters a ton. Even going on the (seemingly safe) assumption that the NL Central will send two teams to the postseason this year, this jockeying for position in June is very important. St Louis sweeping an extremely hot AL team and Chicago sweeping a top division rival on the road could prove to be extremely important in September.

Go Reds! (no offense Reds fans, but I just don't see Cinci as a real threat in this division, it's still a Houston/St Louis/Chicago race)

The Cards are up to their old tricks again! They managed to come back from one down to tie it in the bottom of the 9th off Graves. Time for extra innings.
