i train scoring....
I trained passing this past week, hoping for a pop or two... well, NO ONE popped... BUT, i have trained passing before a few seasons ago. some of my guys have 3 weeks of passing in them...
so, should I:
train passing 1 more week, hope for a few pops
or
train SP (i could use it)
or
train scoring (I have a 17 y/o formidible)
advice advice advice!

I really don't think there is a "correct" answer to this. If I were you, and this is only my opinion, I would train 1 more week of passing if you still have a few guys around with 3 weeks passing traing and they haven't popped. This is assuming your forwards are all at least weak in passing skill. You won't see any financial gain unless they are at least popping to inadequate. If not, just go scoring. It pays the bills.

I never understood the idea o ftraining passing in the offseason. Say we're dealing with three offseasons, two weeks in each. So you have two options - train scoring for 3 weeks for every player, or passing every week.
IMO, .5 levels of scoring >>> 1 level of passing (assuming 6 weeks to bump passinsg).

I just wrote something up on this: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=26825
Give it a read.
If your 17 y/o has at least inadequate passing, I'd train scoring.
If you have a good number of players with SP higher than inadequate, I'd train Set Pieces.
Otherwise, train passing again using the 2-5-3 to train 8 players. Passing takes forever to pop, so don't be surprised if you still don't get a pop from training it again.

i think i might stay with passing, we'll see... my 17 y/o has poor passing, but everyone else is weak, inad, or higher (I have 1 solid passer)....
...hrmmmm
also, i plan on keeping all but 1 guy for a few seasons... meaning if i train a week or two of passing NEXT offseason I can still see some benefits....

at this point you are committed so i would go ahead and do the passing, but for future reference, train scoring.
I have trained scoring for several seasons and have experimented also in the off-season with other training too. set peices is a possible second option if there are enough players on your team that would benefit from it. It affects everyone equally, including those who dont even play, and its fast, so that makes training it for only 1-2 weeks a season worthwhile.
dont bother with passing because its too slow and not worth it. I dont recommend training stamina unless you are a PM or winger trainer because its just not worth it. It will hurt your form, which will suffer enough from lack of matches in the off-season, and it only benefits your midfielders, who may already be excellent form like all of mine. If you have midfielders on your team are not excellent stamina then sell them and buy ones who are. in the long run its more economical that way then to waste training for it.
hope that helps
