I hadn't really thought about it, but I think I'd like one. Someone figured out that thanks to Yahoo's increasing its mail limits to 100MB storage and 10MB per transfer, we can now use the mail server as a free and quick way to transfer files back and forth. You just have to be careful who you give your email username and password to, so the account doesn't get hijacked. Otherwise, it's like having a small FTP site (limited to <10MB files).

GMail has, what, 1GB of space? Giddyup!

I have SBC DSL through Yahoo and that gives me Yahoo Premium for free. When they upgraded their mail limits to 100MB they upgraded the Premium boxes to 2GB!!!.

What the hell am I going to do with 2GB of email space?

Hurst - don't think so, but you can delete your Gmail account if you no longer want it. But AFAIK, you can't un-invite yourself once the account is created.

Not sure. Ebay was flooded with people selling invites, at any one time you could see 5000+ invites up for auction. Wether the shutting down of invitations is because of that or going live I don't know.

I have to say that this is really an awesome e-mail so far. I don't know if it's the minimal amount of images and stuff the pages or what, but everything loads so fast for me. I also like how they have a history of sent e-mails in a cascading pattern.
