what a night.

just found out they want to break up our row, to make room for some corporate ta-tas. I share a row with 6 other chicks, and I get along really well with all of them execpt for one hosebeast who I rarely see. I like to chitchat/flirt with several of these women, and I'm also close enough to my sup and the night techie, for even more fun conversation.

I'll be moved to a smaller row, occupied by 3 guys, none of home I like that much (2 of them I strongly dislike). One of them (Todd) thinks he's funny as hell - he's the guy who has to "reply to all" to every work email with a "funny" comeback that is never funny. The other (Roger) is Mr Softball Fratboy. Nothing in common with him anyway, and he pulled off a really dick move on a good friend of mine recently (one of the neighbors I'm getting separated from). The 3rd, Keith, seems ok, but is quiet as hell - nothing like me at all (oddly, we have the same last name).

So, I decided not to stress out about it (one of the girls is already working on the "please don't move me" email to the big boss). At least, I figured, I can surf the net.

*cue Whammy #2*
Literally, within minutes of receiving the above info via work email, I jumped over to Yahoo to grab my mail. and got this:

"You have attempted to access a website that is blocked by PC Connection, Inc. Please type a new URL in the address bar to continue browsing the web." Please, shoot me know - they have finally smartened up and are starting to block sites

so, Thursdays are "snack cart" day - they put out a bunch of fruit and junk food for people. I decided to grab a candy bar or something to cheer me up.

as you probably guessed already, the snack cart was totally empty.

they really do weird stuff. yahoo is currently blocked (well, just the mail), but hotmail is still open. AIM Express, which I just started using the other day, is blocked now as well. Ditto CBS Sportsline...but not ESPN, CNNSI, or any of the other various fantasy sites.

this has happened before (ABC.com, for a while, and ESPN for several months). usually, what happens is someone higher up misses a website and complains...and then the blocks go away.

Ardent beat me too it.

Sorry to hear the double whammy Dodger.

Your post automatically gets the penis nailed to the board stamp of approval for using the word "hosebeast".

Never knew that you were a chick. Guess that's where the nickname DD comes from...

My work blocks solecismic.com because of "gambling." It also blocks gamespot.com because of "gaming," but this site is unaffected. Education logic.

The USS Nimitz attempted to go to a internet limit system where you were allowed 40 blocks or whatever you want to call them. Before you clicked on a website, you had to verify you wanted to "spend" one of your 40 "blocks". Blocks cost different amounts for what type of site you wanted to go to. Gambling and porn were off limits, of course for us. Military sites and official business sites were free.

That lasted one whole day.

Thank goodness.
