okay, you knew I had to make one, right? :)

Probably many of you have already made one, but for those of you who find excel intimidating, here's the tiny ratings calculator I use...

It computes your team's ratings in three different way:
1) with the scale that has 0.25 in between steps, with "disastrous (very low)"=1
2) with the new HATStats scale (1-80)
3) with a scale that can simulate the old NSI. Start at 1 for "disastrous (very low)", then add 0.5 for every step afterward..

You can find the ratings calculator here:
http://webhome.idirect.com/~stevegougeon/ratingscalc.xls

If anything's wrong or buggy with it, let me know...

I'm disappointed. Now, if you had made it inline, then I'd be impressed ;)

Very cool, but why doesn't it work with other browsers? I don't know much about Excel, but it's all the same text... right? So why do Opera and stuff have extra returns? Is there any way for me to edit that (since I only use Opera I don't even really need it to still work with IE.)

When you do the copy/paste as text from IE and from Opera, it doesn return the exact same thing. Why? I don't know. What I know is that I use IE, so I built my parser with IE in mind.

To build one for Opera, or for any other browser for that matter, you'd need a copy/paste as text from that browser to excel, and look where everything is so that you can parse through it to pull the ratings...

FM, I love you.
In a purely platonic way of course.

This is so uber useful. :)
