Like many others on this board, I have become a huge poker fan/player this year. I have paid close attention to both the WPT and the World Series, or so I thought. After reading several articles on Fossilman and Harrington, I thought I knew all I could about most of the final competitors at this year's WSOP. However, it wasn't until today, while reading the Dallas Observer (after a friend called my attention to it), that I truly recognized David Williams. I thought he had looked familiar in his picture on Poker Stars, but I didn't put it all together. Turns out, I trained the guy when we were both waiting tables/bartending a few years ago and while I wasn't great friends with him, I still find it funny that I never before realized this. I had never played poker before this year, and I don't recall talking about that, but I do remember him being very involved with the Magic: The Gathering stuff...and also remember we kidded him about it a few times, joke's on me I guess lol. Really bright guy and I wish him nothing, but the best...Anyways, just found that interesting, if anyone wants to read about his WSOP appearance and general life/poker experience I have attached the link:
