More HT BS

After losing in my battle for 1st place, I decided to upgrade for my rematch next week. Well after bidding on a defender and watching as HT said bidding is finished with my team name as the last bid, I was excited that for once I didnt have to get into a bidding war. Well 20 minutes later when I log back on, I see a message under my hattrick saying so and so took the lead in the biding for the defender I had already bought. So can anyone explain to me how this error happened? I have supporter and never saw a message saying anyone had raised me for this player, then HT said bidding is finished and that I had bought the guy, but he never gets put on my team, and then I see a message saying I was raised.

Never ever, ever stop checking until the player is on your roster...supporter does not update immediately.

/agree with Qwikshot.

Always keep checking the player page by clicking on him in your bookmarks (so it's always the refreshed player page). Remeber, 12.24 could still be 12.24 and 59 seconds so once it hits 12.24 someone still may have time to outbid you.

Thats just it, I was refreshing adn checking, it specifically said bidding is finished, saying i had highest bid
the player was taken off the market because i refreshed and he was gone
he just never appeared on my roster

did it say that bidding was finished with your team name listed as the winning bid? or the other team's name?

I've heard from some (former) daytraders that if you time the bid just right, it'll say bidding is finished, even though someone got a bid in the last second.

I don't know if logging out/in would let you see that he's still for sale or if there's just nothing you can do about it.

People will do that. They try and snag a player at the last minute. Same advice as everbody else:

Refresh the player's page until it will not take anymore bidding and it actually says "Winning Bidder is CSmith with a bid of $XXXXXX"

That's the only way to know that it is finished.

There was at least 1 occasion where it told me I was the winning bidder at the price of XXXX. When he didn't show up on my team about 10 minutes later I went and looked and it said someone else was the winning bidder and the guy was on their team.

I guess the lesson is to keep refreshing the page until the person shows up on your roster . . .

i thought i remembered a while back that there was a bug that let you continue to place a bid like 10 seconds after it says bidding has finished. i dont remember where i read about it though.

This was posted in either USA or Global just a month or two ago. It's not anything that's new, for sure. Until that person is on your team, as others have said, bidding is not finished, no matter what the damn thing says. One of the truly annoying things about HT and they can't seem to fix it, or can't be bothered too.

Sometimes it lasts more than 10 seconds, sometimes much less... got to wait untill their in your roster though....

I pretty much continue refreshing until my team's name is listed under the player's name up at the top.
