OT: Poker Help

I'm just getting started with Low Limit ($1/$2) Hold'em. What do these stats tell you guys?

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 102 hands and saw flop:
- 10 out 10 times while in big blind (100%)
- 3 out 10 times while in small blind (30%)
- 21 out 82 times in other positions (25%)
- a total of 34 out of 102 (33%)
Pots won at showdown - 7 of 12 (58%)
Pots won without showdown - 1

My limited poker funds had gone to relatively cheap no limit tourneys until I started on the .02/.04 tables to get my feet wet in limit. Only problem there was that everyone called everything. This level is the first time I feel like I'm playing poker.

Tells me you're playing at some real damn passive tables(or defending your blinds too hard when others raise, though without knowing how many others are calling that's hard to judge).

Stats like that are very difficult to judge, espicially just over 100 hands. 33% of flops seen is kinda high, but I have certainly had runs of 100 hands where I've seen that many or more. But if you regularily play that many, you've got some holes to fill in your game, even at 1/2 IMO.

So really all you can say from those numbers is "probably a little loose unless you're getting great cards"

Like Radii said it is very hard to really get anything out of stats over only 100 hands. Stats for how often you see the flop and how often you raise pre flop start to become meaningful after only a few hundred hands. They become very meaningful after only 1000 or so.

Other stats though lonly start to mean much after many many more hands.

I agree with both those guys. Hard to tell, but a little too loose unless you were getting solid cards.

definitely get pokertracker (for the trial, at the very least). It is the best investment I've made in relation to poker.

Thanks for the advice guys. My cards were pretty decent, but I agree I'm a little loose preflop. Still, the big blind flop number was with only one preflop raise. It was pretty passive for a while. Link for pokertracker or should I just google it?

No problem. I will also echo Radii and ct's thoughts. Pokertracker is a great investment. It has every stat you can imagine on both your play and your opoonents play. It also has the ability to export those stats to the notes file of your poker client. so you can see those stats right at the table. Good times.
