WOW... this had been rumored for YEARS, and the GOP 'dirty agents' were planning to try to spread the rumor. Guess it wasn't just a rumor after all. And I thought they were all nuts at the time (I was Prez of the College Republicans at Rutgers).

I would agree, but I think he didn't want his sexuality on trial. I think if had stuck it out then it would had worked out in the end. Marv Albert is a prime example of that.

As ISid posted above, this has been heavily rumored for a while. It will be interesting to see what comes of this potential lawsuit, and after that shoe drops, if any other crap rains on him.

Well, one thing I heard was if McGreevey resigned before Sept 14, state law requires a special election for Governor on Nov 2nd. If he waits until November he stops that. A special election on the 2nd would be disasterous for the Dems, whoever is nominated.

Everything in politics is dirty. I remember a few years ago when I lived in GA, these 3 democrats changed parties like the day after they were elected to the state senate, giving the republicans control. They were in heavily democratic areas and never would've won as republicans. Although they did make the Creative Loafing's "Weekly Scalawag" section.

McGreevey would've been an idiot to resign effective immediately and give away his party's "advantage" or whatever. As long as they don't bring Whitman back, I could care less.

I was actually disgusted by his wife standing by him. How much of a dormat can a woman be? This man lied, cheated and destroyed her family. And she's ok with that? Ok enough to stand side by side and defend him? This man lied to her, broke his most sacred promises to her, and she's going to give him a pass because she loves him? That's an excellent message to teach their daughter. "It's ok honey, a man can do anything to you as long as you love him." Truly dissapointing. I'm ashamed she's a woman.

If Arlie pulled the same kind of stuff like this McGreevy guy, and cheated on me, I'd leave him and divorce him without a second thought. If he cheated on me with another man, I'd clean him out and leave him with nothing except a cardboard box to sleep in and a dirty pair of underwear. Marriage is the most sacred promise I will make in my lifetime, and I didn't make it so that my husband could honor that promise only when he felt like it.
