I have been watching this on the news all morning. They have been talking with a lot of the team up at the U of U about it.

To bad I had to come into work today, it was looking like this would be a cool thing to see.

I still don't understand why they chose to go this route. The US Air Force was doing this kind of thing as far back as the early 1960 with the old Corona imagery satellites. The satellite would dispense a pod with the film in it that re-entered the atmosphere and eventually had a chute that was caught by a sort of grappling device on a C-130 (note the picture is not of a C-130, but the 130 is what was eventually used).

The odd fact I can come up with is that this thing hit the ground at about 100 mph from what I've heard. A human apparently has a faster terminal velocity than this thing did. No doubt the human would be in much worse shape, though.
