Ok guys i need some help,
As some of you know, I am a keeper trainer. I am at a dilema. My top keeper just popped to magnificent. I am pretty much a lock to place 4th in my series. 3rd is not out of reach, but not guaranteed. My backup keeper should be formidable after next week.
This is my starter:
Floyd Mena (22784065)
20 years, inadequate form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has wretched experience and solid leadership abilities.

Nationality: USA
Total Skill Index (TSI): 21 850
Wage: 6 768 US$/week
Owner: SA Griffins FC
Warnings: 0

Stamina: weak Goaltending: magnificent
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: inadequate

He is 20 yo, which will make him a bit too old to train next season. Should I sell him and pick up someone younger I can train now and next season.
Or should I keep him and make a better run at 3rd place.

Money that I would get from Mena's sale (if sold) would go towards a new scorer (which I desperatly need), a younger defender, and improving my wingers.

Any input helps guys. Thanks in advance.

as long as you dont have to worry about getting 5th and a qualifier, personally i would sell him now. and start bulking up for next season. there is little difference between 3rd and 4th other than a bit of prize money and a bit of pride.

first pick up a new trainee. you can probably get a 17 year old pretty cheap since its almost the end of the season. then improve the spots you mentioned.

yah.. sell now if you have no intensions of training past 20y. There is not much difference between 3rd and 4th like saintjo said.

If he doesn't go, my advice is to hang on to him, and train him until he is 22. My bro has an ET keeper, and is worse than me in ratings, but he is in III and I am in V. I knew I should've trained my keeper higher!!!

After he gets to 8-9 star range, change training. That's my 2 cents :D

Well, if he doesn't go ,then I guess I still have a magnificent keeper who will continue to get trained.

Actually, I would hang onto him. You still have 5 weeks left this season.

Keep training him, he should pop to World Class very early next season, sell him then and use some of the sales money to buy a 17yo high passable or even solid if you can get one at a decent price (if you don't buy until week 3 or 4 the prices are usually MUCH much less but 17yo solids are still very good at that time. That's how I got my U20 keeper.) Also be pulling keepers the first few weeks until you get a trainee, but wait until next season or you'll be slapping yourself when you get a 17yo solid who is 3 days away from turning 18.

You want to avoid training 21 year olds, but there is nothing wrong with training a player into his 21st year if he only has a couple weeks left. Plus those ~6 weeks should make you about $1.3M extra.

Well, thank you guys for your advice. This is what happened. I sold Mena for $4,080,000, and I bought myself a better keeper trainee.
a 17 yo formidable that should help me make up the money I spent on him in a couple of seasons.

Thanks again for the help.
