Hurricane Jeanne - No Prayers Please

Just wanted to start fresh, but keep the main topic alive. It is possible that by this time next week, our friends in SC/NC might have a minimal hurricane to deal with.

Also, apparently some remnants of Ivan have made their way into the Gulf, and will be impacting LA/TX at some point. If it develops, they might even have to give it a name. From what I heard, there's confusion over whether it should get a new name, or still be considered "Ivan."

Yeah, I don't understand that Ivan remnant thing. Last I heard it was in the northeast...did it sputter, make a u-turn and start loitering in the Gulf again?

I think it's just part of the system that never really moved that far north. It just hung around, and instead of dissipating, it started to regroup and move on its own. I guess.

Typically the storm keeps the same name unless it crosses from the Atlantic to the Pacific (or the otherway); however, in this case, I imagine it will go unnamed as long as the storm is weak, or will get a new name in order to limit confusion.

thought that considering im again in the crosshairs Id bump this just for Turk Wendell type sake. I have 2 rooms in Valdosta so if Im bad luck, Valdosta better lok out, cuz I had rooms in Mobile for Ivan and well....that was not good. anyways, I AMM (NOOP) saying prayers for everyone that has been and could be affected by this hurricane (including those nobodys in haiti - noop) and wish everyone the best in evading it or recovering from it the best that they can. Might as well hit Wild Adventures if you're in Valdosta. It's like a third-rate Bush Gardens/Wet n Wild combo park, and it's cheap.
