I attempted a dynasty with this before, but I quickly lost interest in updating it for a number of reasons, which I wont with this one. :p
I play an on-line FPS called Americas Army. It's a recruitment tool put out by the United States Army. It's a free download and the main site is www.americasarmy.com (http://www.americasarmy.com)
About 2 months ago, the world's largest on-line gaming league decided to add AA to its list of games. CAL (www.caleague.com (http://www.caleague0.com)) aka Cyberathlete Amateur League, is home to the top teams in other games like Counter-Strike. CAL is affiliated with the CPL aka Cyberathlete Professional League which awards cash prizes at tournaments. In the winter they are doing a CS tournament where the purse is $100,000. AA isnt quite there yet, but there seems to be a strong demand for it.
Over a year ago, the first league system for AA came from TWL (www.teamwarfare.com (http://www.teamwarfare.com)) which provides ladders and leagues for AA teams.
______________________________________________________________
My career in AA:
I first started out as someone who just played for fun. The Devs are constantly updating the game, and the game has gone from 1.0-2.1 in 2 years. During the first few versions I remained someone who just played on pubs (servers available to the public). I then joined 69CD (no longer a team) and met some of the players that would catapult my AA career. A short while after joining 69CD, a group decided to break off and start a team of our own. We called it the Wolf Brigade. (No longer a team) We then merged with one of the oldest AA teams, Force Recon (www.force-recon.org (http://www.force-recon.org)). A short while after that I was persuaded to leave FR to join Ghost Recon for a new video card. That didnt work out, and soon I was teamless again. After a few months of playing alone, I wanted to get back into competition.
There are two styles of play in the game. Outdoor and CQB (indoors) I prefer indoors, and I noticed a recruitment post in the AA forums from BDK (www.badkarma.tk (http://www.badkarma.tk)) and went through a quick recruitment process and was soon a BDKer. I joined them in October of 2003. After quickly rising through the ranks, and becoming a regular starter, I was soon promoted up and up. With the help of my teammates, we were able to get BDK in the Top 10 in all ladders we played in, and an invite to the 6v6 TWL Invite League.
That was the high point. Soon after the invite, we started to slowly fall apart. We lost one of our best match players to DVC (www.teamdvc.com/forums (http://www.teamdvc.com/forums)). Soon one of our other best players left to join Operation Mayhem (www.team-lg.com/forum (http://www.team-lg.com/forum)). After becoming the main strategist, and one of the point players in matches, I was soon recruited into DVC. After about a week, I was all but in. I decided to stay with BDK. About a month after that, a group of BDK and a few other players left and started -misChief- (www.nick5768.com/mcforum (http://www.nick5768.com/mcforum))
I was one of those players. We knew we had a lot to do. This brings us to the now.
_______________________________________________________________
Roster:
Founders:
Maniac - A great all-around player, going to college has limited his playing time.
Rotor- An awesome CQB player with a nice outdoor shot, he's a starter.
Nick - College has screwed him over, and he is unable to play. He is the manager.
Dansik (Me)- Described by few an underrated indoor shot with a precise outdoor shot, I'll start in most matches.
Members:
Tabro- An awesome indoor shot, he is on the job hunt which has affected his playing time.
Bizarre- School, and a sick cousin limits his playing time. A great indoor shot.
FlorJackson- Only plays for us on TWL as his team x6 (1 of the 4 best teams in the game) plays on CAL. He's an amazing all-around player.
Crazygoat- He's new to match play, but he's got great potential.
Ethernal- He was in one of the better teams until they broke up, he'll start when he can play.
_______________________________________________________________
We are on the TWL 4v4 Objective Ladder and the 6v6 Open League. Currently 2-0 on the 4v4 ladder (Bottom of it, play crappy teams) and predicted to win the 6v6 Open League and one the team to watch out for list. We played our first CAL match and won that as well.
______________________________________________________________
Which brings us to the now. From now on I'll have detailed match reports, anything interesting that happens in pubs/scrims. Screenshots of cheating accusations, amazing kill streaks, etc. I'll post those tomorrow. For now, I hope this brings some people into this amazing game (Think more realistic than BF1942 and CoD) and hopefully some people will read.

This was a sig I made using most (not all) but most of the cheat accusations up until about 2 weeks ago:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/dansik/hackersig.gif
I'll try to get as many screens of our matches.
________________________________________________________________
Our weekly schedule looks something like this:
Monday - 6v6 TWL Open League
Thursday - 4v4 CAL Open League
Anyday except for Monday we can have a 4v4 TWL Obj match.
Anyday we dont have a match, we'll try to scrim or we'll just pub.

In anticipation of our match tomorrow, I decided to put together a screen of all the pics where I get called a cheater. I've cropped out the lines in PS so the pic would be a manageable size. These are most of the accusations, not all, but the ones I could find in about 4 mintues for searching.
Ignore the whiteness. :p

We had our 3rd TWL 4v4 Obj match tonight. We took on 999 on Mout Mckenna. This is a team we should've had no problems with.
Well, turns out they were more agressive than most teams are on the map, and the took a half-time score of 4-2.
In the first round after half we won to make it 4-3. Then they made it 5-3. We then won the next. Then they won the next round to make it 6-4. We would have to win 2 straight in order to send the match into overtime. After changing our strat up a bit, we ended up taking the last two rounds fairly easily.
Up came OT. Things started off quick as Rotor took down 2 of them in a row. Then flor helped our cause taking out their third guy. We then took the objectives with their last guy hiding to win it.
Flor was the MVP of the match, and the final score was 7-6 mC. We're now 3/0 and 76th rung on that ladder.
We're attacking United Online Operations for the 45th rung.

Tsk, tsk. Underestimating your opponent is bad, bad, naughty! :D
This game always looked interesting to me but my lack of a real computer and in ability to be worthwhile in a FPS game has always been a hinderance. I'll be following the dynasty. Good luck with the season.

We had a match last night for the TWL 6v6 Open League. We only had 5 show, which normally would put a team at a disadvantage.
The match was played on Insurgent Camp against {BOH} or Bag of Hammers. Flor showed up right as the match started or we would've had to play 4v6. But we got him in, and took the first round fairly easily.
In the second round, we lost flor and maniac off the bat which put us at 3v6. Eth stayed at the top computer, I stayed in the garage (which is in between the top pc and bottom one) and rotor was in the basement. Rotor took out one, as Eth took one out. 4v3. I kill one trying to get to the basement, and then rotor dies. I rush basement, as they are taking the cp. I kill the cover man, and fire a shot at the other one. I'm down to 13 bullets, and he rushes me. I kill him, and about 10 seconds later Eth dies at top pc. I rush up the stairs with about 39 seconds left, and throw a nade into top pc which ends up killing the final BOH.
On defense, we would go on to only lose about 1 person a round, and at the half the score was 6-0 mC.
After the half, we thought assault might be a little harder just because it's usually a tough map for assault, and we were down a man.
We thought wrong. First round we just mowed through them, same with second, and third, and fourth, and the fifth. 11-0 mC. We were looking for the shutout, but maniac couldnt clutch it, and we lost the final round.
Final score: 11-1 mC
MVP: Flor - 21 kills
Our next match is on Thursday for the 4v4 TWL obj on Bridge SE against UEO and on the same day 4v4 CAL-O vs. b4m on Swamp Raid. We're trying to get the Bridge SE match rescheduled.

Okay League Review time:
6v6 Open (For the Open I'll just pick the key matches)
American Conference
Alpha Division:
Latin-W won 12-0 over 101st
BDK won 7-0 over noobs inc
Beta Division:
Violent Veggies over Ape Squad Elite 12-0
NWrecon 10-2 over Care Bear Love
Gamma Division:
mC 11-1 over BOH
The broken ties UEO 6-6 (The Broken is considered our main competition in the division)
National Conference:
Alpha Division:
Shadow Ops vs. PKF - not played yet
No one else mentionable
Beta Division:
No one to mention
Gamma Division:
EoR 10-2 over [KOD]
dP 9-3 over Rogers Rangers
Intermediates:
Nothing really worth mentioning. All the teams that should've won, won.
Invites:
Only one mild upset
Fatal Impact lost to overRated 12-0. (They should've lost, but not by that much)
And ST-6 tied NATO.
Since you're probably wondering what half of that means, I'll go into some insight on the top teams in AA, as well as our main competition in the Open.
AA:
ST-6 (Seal Team 6) - These guys were the best of the best. The best team in the world. They took a break, but are back now. Not as good as before, but getting there.
IOG (Instruments of God) - Best team in the world right now. Not much more to say.
oR (overRated) - Once the best team, now playing second fiddle to IOG.
-Logic- - Probably the best all-around team in AA, wont beat IOG indoors, but could beat them outdoors.
Rising Storm - Underrated team in AA defines these guys. They are definatly at the top.
Fatal Impact - Been kind of quiet lately, lost to IOG in the 4v4 invite finals, but they havent done much since then.
Check Six - Used to be ST-6 caliber. Was the best team in the US for the longest of time, then they were upset with some decisions TWL made, got kicked out of the leagues, left the ladder. They're CAL exclusive now.
Open League Competition-
The Broken - Not *really* worried about them, especially after their tie with UEO. A great pub team, but I guess it hasnt translated to success in matches.
EoR - Newer team, solid. Really solid players, when they have their starting lineup in they could give us a run for our money.
dP - Their best player was recently banned from TWL for cheating, so now their not as good as they were. EoR should beat them, and in all cases many people are pointing to a EoR vs mC Open League Final.

We will be playing The Broken on Mountain Pass SE on Monday for the 6v6 Open.
b4m on Thursday on Swamp raid for CAL 4v4 Open.
UEO on Thursday on Bridge SE for TWL 4v4 Obj.

We had a little roster shaking and baking last night.
Crazygoat was let go, and we bring in Traceur and Jiggles.
Traceur- Decent everywhere, newer to the game, takes goats place as the project player.
Jiggles- He was in BDK with us, could start for any invite team.
Goat's release was pretty mutual. His life was pretty busy, and he had to leave in the middle of a couple matches which really hurt. He'll be gone until his real world situation allows him to play again.

Sorry for the delay in write-ups, I kept getting a database error. :(
On Thursday we had to play two matches. One on Bridge SE, and one on swamp. Both 4v4. Both horrible maps, Bridge SE being way too big for a 4v4, and swamp being a horrible match map. Literally there is no strategy to that map for any team other than one person guard obj, and the other 3 run around and throw random grenades.
Anyway, our first match went a little tighter than expected. We pretty much rolled through them on assault with flor (big surprise) leading us with kills, and he also aced (Killed all the members of the opposing team in the same round) them once. We took a 4-2 lead at the half.
After the switch, they got mighty good, mighty fast. Eth put out that they could've been using devmode which is basically a thing that can take out fog, tress, bushes, give you better accuracy, see through walls, fire at a faster rate, give you sniper scopes on guns that dont normally have them. This was leaked, and it's been going on for over a year now as the DEVs supposedly took it out, when all they did was make it harder to use.
So anyway, they got really good and before we knew it, it was tied 4-4. They remained good, but there's a reason we're considered an up and coming team as we were able to outshoot them, and with some good strats come away with the win 7-5.
Our second match of the night was CAL preseason vs. b4m. We knew this would be a tough match as not only did they have some of the game's more solid players, but also Prokilla. We'll talk about Prokilla right now.
Basically, he's a cheater. A known cheater. He's been banned by TWL numerous times for cheating, evading a ban, evading a ban while cheating, etc. And that was with TWL's cheat deterrant. CAL relies on PB which isnt nearly as good at TWL's CDC w/PB. So we knew we were in for a tough one.
In the first half we did pretty well for it benig a horrible match, as b4m led at the half 4-3. We switched sides, and prokilla got really good. He would randomly get headshots through tents, seemingly knew where everyone was, and we ended up losing 9-5. It's only preseason so I'm not too worried. We lost to a good team, with someone who may or may not have been cheating.
Upcoming Matches:
TWL:
10-4-04 vs. The Broken on MPSE 6v6 TWL Open League
10-6-04 vs. FORCE on FARM 4v4 TWL Obj
We should win both matches. FARM is a tough map to start out on assault, but we're still low enough on the ladder where it's not impossible.

10-05-2004, 06:56 AM
Well, The Broken has apparently died overnight. We recieved a no show win which brings our record to 2-0 in the 6v6 TWL Open League.
We also joined the 6v6 CQB Ladder on TWL and immediatly attacked The Firing Squad. We'll be playing them on Friday on Weapons Cache, a small indoor map that defense has the advantage on. For whatever reason they gave us defense first, so this match should take all of 30 minutes.
Our match with FORCE is still on for tomorrow on FARM, we should win that one as well.
CAL Week 1 begins this week as we play MaFiA on Weapons Cache. Again, this will be one where we throw the starters in for the first half, and get the others match experience.
TWL Open 6v6 League Results:
The newest team to our conference is Violent Veggies, now the only team considered to be even a threat to us. They lost to MoS in their league match. Yes I'm also wondering how and why they lost to a team like that.
EoR and dP both of whom are predicted to fight it out to play us in the Open League Finals won by way of a no show.
TWL 6v6 Inters:
No surprises, one of the awesome teams that was bumped from the Open to the inters ahead of us no-showed. GJ to them.
TWL 6v6 Invites:
The only real surprise was ST_6 and ^rS tieing. Otherwise we'll look at my old team BaD Karma who have now lost 24 straight rounds in the invites. This after saying that I wasn't really an important part of their run up the ladders. GJ to them.
We decided to scrim with EoR since we're pretty good friends with them, and we both had no-shows. It was 6v6 on Weapons Cache. On assault we won 2 or 3 rounds. Most of them had decent shots, but they all were excellent nade throwers.
On defense we shut them down. They didnt take a single one from us. Both teams got to learn a little bit about our playing styles and it could be a nice little preview for the Open League Finals.
We also added a new member to the squad.
j.tharp - excellent indoor player, he knows the game. He'll be a starter on 6v6, and could eventually be a starter once we get more match experience together.

Had our 4v4 for TWL vs. FORCE on farm last night.
We started off taking 2 on assault to make the score 4-2 them headed to defense. That's an awesome way to head into defense.
Unfortunatly, we lost 2 on defense, and ended up sending the match to OT. I wasnt in before this, but was called in for OT. They chose SF Sandstorm. Flor had to wear his x6 tag which scared them into not covering any obj and we won the OT round in a minute and half.
Our 4v4 CAL was rescheduled to Sunday since they are European and cant play at a normal time.

Good read. I'll be keeping up with this. I used to play TFC (Half-Life) online and was in several clans/guilds (won a few titles). Kind of makes me want to start playing an online shooter again. :)
Is there any issues with hacking/cheating going on in AA? That was the main reason I stopped playing TFC.

Unfortunatly yes, although it's not as wide-spread as a lot of people think. There are things like EvilHack which basically plays the game for you. All you have to do is move and click. Devmode is a built-in lesser EvilHack.
Fortunatly, TWL uses CDC which while not perfect, does make the competition aspect about as clean as you can be on-line. And since I'm in this for competition, and usually have no problems killing cheaters I dont really complain about it.

Ok! We're back!
A whole mess of matches since we left off in the middle of the 4v4 ladder vs. FORCE.
Since then we have gone about 12-1.
We now sit at the #21 spot on the 6v6 TWL CQB Ladder.
#10 on the TWL 4v4 Obj ladder.
#1 in the 6v6 TWL Open League.
#2 in the CAL 4v4 League.
Our roster after some moving, leaving, joining, etc now sits at:
Rotor
Oneway- New player since last post, immediate impact player.
dansik- me
noonan- adds depth
flor
maniac
nick
ethernal
rich- aka tracuer
jiggles
Ok, so we really only added two people, but hey they're good. :)
Onto the matches. I'll only post a screenshot of a match if something cool happened and the score.
TWL 4v4 Objective Ladder (#10) Match History:
Win vs. The Extreme 7-4
Win vs. CORE 7-3
Loss vs. ACF 7-6 in OT. (Should've won, but won't go into it.)
TWL 6v6 CQB Objective Ladder (#21) Match History:
Win vs. The Firing Squad 7-1.
Win vs. QRF 7-2.
http://www.kevinhamlin.com/upload/qrf.jpg

Win vs. MaFiA 14-0.
Win vs. NSSO 9-5.
Win vs. b4m 9-5. (This was CAL MOTW, and was the first shoutcast in over 4 months for AA. A shoutcast is like a radio broadcast of a match.)
Win vs. SS 13-1. (They disputed the match on the grounds that we cheated.)
Okay so that's the records since I've last been able to post.
Now!
We have a 4v4 TWL match vs. Force Recon in about an hour.
We play BDK in the 6v6 CQB TWL Ladder on Sunday.
Our CAL match is going to be vs. 3rdID on Thursday.

Last night we took on our rivals BaD Karma. If you remember my previous short-lived dynasty, Nick, jiggles, rotor, and myself were in BaD Karma previously. There were many reasons we left, but there is so much drama I'm not going to go into it.
We knew they would be practicing for this match, which basically made us still not really practice. We jumped on a pub about a half hour before the match and did a mini strat session.
Our roster:
oneway
dansik
jiggles
rotor
flor
nonnan
We had our best lineup in minus a new guy who wasn't eligible.
End of the match score: 7-1 mC. We pretty much just went through them while we were on Assault, and when we moved over we got a little impatient, and rushed them losing our only round. We rebounded and took the final round. Flor again led us in kills.
We added two new players to our roster this weekend.
Hector joins us from Team Massacre a highly rated team in AA and he'll jump straight into our starting lineup.
DarkTeleTubbie joins us from Check Six. He'll finish out the CAL season on Check Six, but joins us on TWL. When the CAL season is over, Check Six will step away from AA, and flor and tubbie will be joining us full-time.
Edit: The win over BaD Karma moves us up to the 13th spot on the TWL 6v6 CQB ladder. We will be playing NATO for the #5 spot on Tuesday the 16th. Tomorrow night we'll be playing Geek Sports on the 4v4 ladder. Thursday we'll be playing Team Massacre for CAL.

All I can say is amazing.
We came, we saw, and we totally dominated. 11-3 was the final score against team massacre. This was an awesome team. It was shoutcasted so we had the added pressure of winning. We were undefeated going in, but we had played in the easiest division. So many teams were doubting our true talent.
Well, we proved every doubter wrong. Not just beating them, but taking the match over. I'll get the link to the recorded shoutcast as soon as they make it available. Rotor was easily the MVP, but the whole team really came together.
We also won without flor, a feat many top teams didn't think possible. We've put ourselves on the radar now.

Pretty cool to read this. I quit AA around 7 months ago... I was in Operation Mayhem, which is now a main part of Logic.
Wow, small world. I was whoring up their forums, now I whore up logic's.
AA is horribly frustrating for public play. Between the hackers, the plain idiots, and the lag if it wasn't for TWL/CAL I would've quit a long time ago. I havent' played CS or HL, but I've played CoD, and I find that pub play on that one is more fun just because of deathmatch so you dont have to wait. The only big advantage AA has is that it's free, and if you're paying tax dollars to the US then you're paying for it already.
Okay I just made it sound sooo bad, but if you find a fun group of people to play with, pubs can still be fun. But like I said, I'm staying for the competition aspect. Speaking of which:
Unfortunatly, on Tuesday we had a 6v6 TWL CQB match against NATO. We came in without any practice, and it showed as we lost 7-4.
Tonight we played TeamSF, and after two rounds on horrible play we were able to come back and win the match with a final score of 6-3-1. We actually tied them one round.
Next up is the first round of the CAL playoffs vs. 3rdID the #15 seed tomorrow.
illinifan999
11-19-2004, 07:23 AM
We won our first round by forfeit. 3rdID didn't know they made the playoffs and couldn't get 4 people to show for the match.
Today we'll be playing RS on the 6v6 TWL Old School Ladder. This should be a pretty tough match as they are currently rated as one of the top teams in AA.

On Friday we took on RS on the 6v6 TWL Old School Ladder. I wasn't around to play, but from what I've heard the match was sloppy on both sides. However, we're used to cleaning up our messes and we took home the 7-4 win.
Tomorrow we'll get to play -=WA=- on the 6v6 TWL Open League. We've clinched a playoff spot, but hey, going undefeated might be fun. :)

Ok whew, sorry for the lack of updates.
Here's a quick synopsis of what's happening.
We lost our second round CAL playoff match to .tm.
We beat WA on the on the 6v6 TWL open.
Here's how we're doing so far:
CAL - Season Over
TWL 6v6 Open League - #1 spot in our conference, we play the wildcard LA on Monday.
TWL 6v6 CQB - We are now ranked 6 with a 5/1 record.
TWL 4v4 Obj - We are ranked 7 with a 10/1 record.
TWL Old School 6v6 - We are ranked 9 with a 1/1 record.
We also recieved an invitation to join the TWL 4v4 Invite League in the upcoming season.
Our roster now looks like this (I'll do starters --> backups)
Florjackson - starter every map
Dansik (me) - starter every map that I can run decently.
Jiggles - starter most maps
Oneway - starter every map
Darkteletubbie - starter most maps
Rotor - starter most maps
Ethernal - good depth player, he can play anything
Fins - amazing tactician, he's an excellent role player who will start when he can
mg - he'd start, but he doesn't have a soundcard
noonan - another good role player who can step in on certain maps
nick - excellent outdoor player, and that's where he starts
trojan - excellent overall player and he starts when he can make it
So basically our whole roster is capable of starting pretty much every map. Honestly, I'd say we probably have the deepest roster in the game, just because everyone can step in and start if needed.
Some teams are projecting that if we work on our teamwork we can become one of the top teams in AA, so here's hoping.

Tonight we played {SI} on the TWL 6v6 Old School Ladder. We were heavy favorites going in.
Roster:
flor
jiggles
nick/tubbie
noonan
hector
fins
My computer can't handle the map we played on, but I listened it.
We won 7-2. Our next match is tomorrow night in the TWL 6v6 Open League Playoffs. We play Lethal Assassins. On Tuesday we play ST-6 on the TWL 6v6 CQB Ladder and we finish our week on against Reborn Soldiers on the TWL 4v4 Obj Ladder.
Okay, I've since realized I havent really explained things about TWL/CAL, the teams, and AA in general, so for all the people that get confused, tomorrow I'm hoping to make a series of posts explaining all you need to know. :)

Well I said I would inform you about this game a little more so here goes. I'll start it out by telling you about TWL. Now to help you in the future with TWL, I'll tell you this. In TWL there are size specific ladders and map specific ladders. A 4v4 means there is 4 people on each team, and a 6v6 means 6. Complicated, I know. Now there are different ladders you can join, and leagues.
Ladders:
6v6 CQB means that you only play on CQB maps. I'll designate the maps as CQB, outdoors, SF, Old School.
4v4 Obj means you get all the maps in the game minus a few that are mostly unplayed.
6v6 Obj means the same as the 4v4 obj except all the maps are on it.
6v6 Old School means you have the same selection as the Obj ladders minus the SF maps.
4v4/6v6 SF ladder means you have all the SF maps.
Leagues:
6v6 Open, Intermediate, Invite means you have a season where you know what the maps will be just not the order.
4v4 Open, Intermediate, Invite means the same as the 6v6 leagues.
This is how ladders work:
You start out at the bottom on the ladder. You can then challenge up a certain amount of spots. Usually half meaning if you're on rung 100, you can challenge up to rung 50. If you win, you move to spot 50 and the team that was on spot 50 goes to 51. If you lose, you lose. You get to challenge again in 24 hours.
Leagues work basically how a typical NBA, NFL, etc seaon works except you only play teams in your conference and division.
Now the way you play the matches for the ladders is the first to 7 wins. You play 6 on assault, then switch and play 6 on the other side if necessary. If both teams tie 6-6, you go to MOUT, or Sandstorm. Both require 3 obj that either team can take which make it a good tiebreaker.
In a league match during the regular season you play out all 12 rounds. In the playoffs you play it like the ladders.
CAL is basically a 4v4 league. Only you know the maps and you know the order during the season. In CAL though you play first to 8, so you get 7 on each side.

In our 6v6 Open League playoff match against Lethal Assassins it went much better than I had anticipated. We ended up winning 7-0, with no real danger to our shutout. We await the winner of another match to see who we play in the conference finals so I'll get ya that when it comes. BUT I did get an interesting email as well as had an interesting IRC convo with one of their players.
Dude not to be mean or anything but how do you guys do it? How does any team do it? I mean our clan played you in twl recently but I really dont get it. How do you guys get instant headshots? Please do not tell me practice because you guys cant practice 7 hours a day and come out of a corner and shoot and the first two shots will be headshot. Its not possible to have your cem full the second you pop out. Secondly you cant just have the first three shots hit your head the second you pop out. How do you do it?
The IRC convo is much longer but basically the same thing.
