Being a Yankee and all, I'm not really a fan of any SEC team, but I do enjoy good football when I see it and often, the SEC delivers. While my attention this weekend will fixed on ND-Purdue, (unless my due-any-day-now wife happens to be in labor) the SEC this weekend delivers up some real doozies with the likes of Arkansas at Florida, LSU at Georgia and Auburn at Tennessee. Wow! I think I'd have to give slight edge to each of the home teams here, but the match-ups are good enough that were they reversed, I'd be inclined to reverse my favorites. Certainly, a win by one of these road teams would not be a surprise.

South Carolina-Alabama is an interesting game, which in another week might garner more hype. Not to mention a chance for an improved Vandy squad to win their first conference game in ages (unless I missed a win somewhere) against a suspect Miss. St.

Oh, while I potentially have the attention of a few Georgians, thank you ever so kindly for Darius Walker. The youngster is doing you proud in South Bend these days.

Good picks. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't put money on any of these games. Every one of them could go either way.

Vandy will lose. It's inevitable.

Alabama can run the football like no one in the conference. It's too bad they are completely one-dimensional now.

Georgia better frickin win.

I'll go with Florida in the Swamp, but the Hogs will give them a fight.

Knowing Auburn they will get rolled at Tennessee which is a shame because they are a better team.

This is the one I wavered on. Arkansas seemingly has the tough mentality to be able to scrap one out in the Swamp and Florida is capable to playing up or down to any level. I saw quite of bit of their UK game and it could easily have been a closer game, but when their weapons are clicking, the Gators can offensively play with anybody.

I'm far from an expert on the SEC, but I'd go with Tennessee. For some reason I just continue to consider Auburn as an underachiever.

His job should be in serious jeopardy if he comes home with more than 2 losses this season. I would say 1 loss but that is pushing it. That team has everything needed to win the SEC: power running game, good offensive line, veteran quarterback with a couple of deep threats and a strong defense...

But I think the LSU game saves his job anyways.

I don't think that alone will. He needs to win the West at the least.
