For those of you who have not grabbed this spectacular game, I doubt you'll be able to beat this price any time soon.

Does it matter that it is the British version of the game?
Probably will be in a strange language you can't understand and you'll have to babelfish your way through it.

They use words like dastardly and the Britons always win no matter what you do.

Please help. Under 10hrs and counting on this sale.
Does anyone know why this game would take a $15.00 price drop only days after its release? The last time I saw a game drop in price only days after release was MOO3, and we all remember what a huge piece for crap that was right out of the box.
Any chance that this "overseas" version of Rome is a dud in the making?

It's from GoGamer. They always have these kind of deals on games. I check their site oftan because of that 48 Hour Madness sale. I bought a couple of games because of it. There isn't anything unusual about them offering this game for a reduced price.
I don't see why the "import" version would be a dud or wouldn't work on yuor system. CM is technically an "import" and runs perfectly fine.
The only thing I could think of is maybe minor grammatical differences, spelling differences (colour instead of color, etc.). And if (when) they release a patch, you might have to make sure you download the "British", "European", whatever patch (if they make different patches). There might be different copy protection on it.
But the game itself should be the same exact game. Although I'm just speculating (but it's hard to see how or why they would make it significantly different)

For the record, I've done this a few times 'the other way' IE - importing a US game because I couldnt be bothered waiting for the UK release date.
The language differences are very very little really. Unless you all can't understand what I'm typing...
The only difference I've ever spotted in a game was that Madden wouldn't let me use the auto-update feature unless I set my geographical settings to US ones - ie.. keyboard etc..
Interestingly it turned out that this was the case for the 'real' british version also - brits who didnt know to change their windows settings to US ones' couldnt patch the game.

There shouldn't be any incompatibility with your system (provided your system meets the reqs).
I own two UK imports (Ghostmaster, KOTOR) that I got from GoGamer and they run fine. The only difference that I've seen is that the UK version of Ghostmaster had a patch released that gave it an additional ending while the US version didn't get one. Other differences you may see is editing of content, like the UK version of Sacred (I think it was Sacred) had nudity while the US version censored it.
