This economic picture is current as of today. With that said, the goal is to build The Castle of Champions to 20k-25k seats at the end of the season. Since V.89 is a top 20 div. V series, it has been tough to build up a supporter base.

CURRENT ROLE - STARTER
Diego Miera was bought in the offseason on Oct. 8th from kalsaritissuttel, a series VI. team from Finland. Diego is from Peru and he received 3.5 stars in his very first game. In passable form he will earn 3 stars. Meira has already seen action in 5 games for the Knights.

CURRENT ROLE - BACKUP
Carrizo was our starter all of last season, but with the transfer of Meira he has been resigned to a backup role. He may still see some time in the starting lineup because his inadequate experience gives him 3 stars in solid and excellent form. He has played in 16 competitive matches for the Knights.

CURRENT ROLE - STARTING CENTRAL DEFENDER
Schenker was bought back in week 4 of season 23 as a backup to Stig Li. He played his first 4 games on our B-squad and then he took over the CD spot and has not given it up. He receives 2 stars on average and 2.5 stars when he is in solid and excellent form. Schenker has played in 12 competitive matches for the Knights in which he has scored 3 goals and been booked 4 times.

Zeigler has been with the Knighs since day 1 and has yet to miss a game in that position. He has averaged 2.5 stars and is capable of putting up 3 stars in "high" solid and excellent form. Zeigler has played in 21 games (1 friendly) so far in his career and he has scored 3 goals without being booked once.

Li was bought in week 3 of season 23 from Magic1972, a series VI. team from Norway. He lost his starting spot to Schenker in part becuase he could not maintain a playable form. He's averaged 2 stars during his stay with the club. Li has appeared in 17 games (6 friendlies) and has been booked 3 times including a red card.

Saenz was pulled from our youth squad in week 1 of season 24. He took a big form hit after week 1 and has not recovered yet. He played in 2 of our cup games and received 2 stars both times.

CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER
Mattox has been a mainstay in the starting lineup from the very beginning. He is a guy who constantly puts of 3 stars. He has played in 22 matches in which he has scored 8 goals and he has been booked twice. Mattox will continue to be a playmaker for the Knights in season 24 and more than likely season 25 as well.

CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER
Vujanovic was bought one week ago for $425K. The Knights needed a midfielder to stay out of relegation and we used the transfer money from a solid youth pull to pay for his transfer. Vujanovic came to the club via Gandi Team, a series VII. Polish team. The young swede has appeared in 2 games so far and he looks to put up 3 stars or more at passable form or higher. He already was booked in just his first match with the club.

CURRENT ROLE - STARTING INNER MIDFIELDER
Kerssens joined the team last season during week 4. He came from Travelair, a series IV. team in Turkey. He is not only our team captain, but he is one of our best set piece takers. It is those two skills that will generally get Kerssens into the lineup over Jan Pluijm. Kerssens has appeared in 13 games (7 friendlies) in which he has scored 5 goals and has been booked 1 time. The biggest concern with Kerssens is his health. He has been injured for 23 days which amounts to 20% of his time with the club.

McCrary is the 2nd best player on the Knights roster. He is not only able to manuever the ball on the wing, but he is also able to send perfectly timed passes to our forwards that create havoc against opposing defenders. McCrary puts up an average of 3 stars and with his recent experience pop we hope to get 3.5 stars on average during this season and beyond. Jan Pluijm is in an interesting position. He and Kerssens seem to rotate the IM spot on the pitch for the Knights. He can contribute most of his action to the injuries that have followed Kerssens the past 2 seasons. He came to the club via a transfer in week 8 from Webasto, a series V. team in Lithuania. He is averaging 2 stars a game and with the solid form he had for 5 straight weeks he was able to earn 2.5 stars. He has appeared in 15 games (7 frinedlies) for the Knights.

Estep was one of our first ever transfers. He came over from The Cat Den, a series V. USA team. He is 19% to formidable scoring right now. Last year was a rough one for Estep. His form never made it above inadequate and was weak for most of the season. This season he has played 3 games at solid form and has earned 3 stars each time. Estep has played in 19 matches (12 friendlies) in which he has scored 1 goal and has been booked 3 times.

The current superstar of the team is clearly Eric Druff. He started his career with the club and his training is going well. He is 57% to formidable scoring. Last year Druff finished 3rd in scoring in V.89 and is looking to top that this season. He has averaged 3 stars over his career, but in the past 10-11 games he has averaged 3.5 stars. He has played 20 games for the club in which he has scored a club high 16 goals (1 hattrick) and he's been booked once.

O'Connor will be trained for another eyar or two and he also is the captain of the B-squad. The playing form of O'Connor is hurting him right now just like it did to Jose Estep. He has not been at passable form since week 6 of season 23. This has caused O'Connor to only average 2 stars so far. He has appeared in 16 games (14 friendlies) and he has been booked once.

Bello was pulled in week 13 and he is with the club because he arrived at a good time. Des Myers knew he was about to be sold and that would open a slot in the training program. His head specialty should add some value when I sell him late next season. I did have an opportunity to buy an 18 yo. excellent trainee, but I decided to buy a midfielder so that I would avoid relegation. Bello has been averaging 2 stars and is 11% to solid. He has played in 6 games (3 frinedlies) and he has been booked 3 times.

Update


After 3 weeks, the team is finally getting into form and the squad is starting to gel. New additions Diego Meira and Sasa Vujanović have made a positive impact and look to carry the Knights to another season in V.89.

One of my goal's this year was to lead the team to Rd. 3 in the US Cup and we did accomplish that feat. An easy 4-1 win was followed by a narrow 3-2 road victory against MWC Twisters. Week 3 in the Cup saw us face off against Austin Outlaws, the team that Vexroid is tied with right now in IV. 12. We gave it a spirited effort, but lost 0-4. Next season I look to make it to Rd. 4.

V.89 is shaping up to be very difficult. Right now we rank as the 15th toughest V. series in the US.

1. Quakes have had a strong start, but have played a very weak schedule so far. They should come back to the middle of the pack soon.

2 Cougs is the most talented team in V.89 still and should win the series barring an unforeseen events.

3. LazyDragons are last year's champs. They tied with the Gunners to start the year and have won back to back games. Their midfield continues to be the best in the series and could lead them to another title.

4. Shadowboxers is a new team to the series. They have been in existence for one calendar year and are in 4th place because they were able to upset the Gunners in week 2. We upset the Gunners in week 4 last season and then hit a slide and I expect the same for the Shadowboxers. However, there midfield will keep them competitive.

5. Yes, that is us listed in 5th. We changed our tactics with the addition of Vujanović and with a strong TS thanks to our cuprun we were able to beat the Midtown Metros for the first time. We won the game 3-1 and will get an easy win this week against the lone bot team.

6. Southside Gunners have had a rough start in season 24. Last season they tied for 1st place in pts. but lost the tiebreakers. This year they have lost to Cougs, Shadowboxers and only managed a tie against the LazyDragons. It does not get any easier as they face a must win game against the Quakes on Sunday.

7. Midtown Metros have yet to earn a point. They made a few transfers in the offseason that I thought were going to help to compete for 1st, but it is looking more and more that they might be relegated this season barring a massive turnaround.

8. NaiohT's is a bot and will be dominated on Sunday by my squad.:D

I'm not going to writeup a full report for this past Sunday's game because we played a bot. It was an easy win as expected. Saša Vujanović and Jose Estep both scored twice to lead us to a 6-0 victory. Our star striker Eric Druff was shutout however.

Another week and another loss for the Metros. They look to have their sites on promoting back to V. next season in hopes of finding an easier division. Right now V.89 is the 15th toughest in USA V. The Gunners got a much needed victory at home this week to get them back in the thick of things in the series and the Quakes lost their first real match of the season. Newcomer, Shadowboxers, got to find out the hard way what it's like to play the Cougs. They got trahsed 1-5 at home.

This Sunday we play The Gunners at home and the following week we travel to play the Shadowboxers. Should be interesting to see where we are at in this our 2nd season.

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 8000 to The Castle of Champions.

RKFC had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Lineup: Miera - Zeigler, Li, Pierce - Mccrary, Kerssens, Mattox, Vujanović - Arias, Estep, Druff.

Southside started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Silva - Cotton, Seals, Muñoz, Moreno - Valenzuela, Romero, Ellsworth, Cardona - Cuenca, Benavidez.

In the 34:th minute RKFCs Óscar Arias received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.

Southside had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team goaltender Diego Miera saved Estanislao Cuenca´s shot headed for the top corner.

In the 38:th minute Eric Druff almost put the home team one ahead on a cross pass coming in from the right, but the shot went wide.

Halftime score was 0 - 0.
RKFC held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.


In the 58:th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and Estanislao Cuenca put the ball away for 0 - 1.

After 69 minutes Southsides Amancio Cardona had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. Zach Sepulveda came in instead of him.

Saša Vujanović still has a lot to learn. For instance not to make half-hearted passes in front of Gustavo Romero who scored for Southside to make it 0-2.

After the ball got lifted in from the left Estanislao Cuenca was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 72 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.

A well placed freekick brought the home crowd new hope. Pablo Kerssens reduced the away teams lead to 1 - 2.

When Óscar Arias made yet another studs first tackle, in the games 79th minute, the referee was obliged to book the RKFC player for the second time, sending him off the pitch.

Southside´s Leslie Valenzuela refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 84:th minute.

Mario Muñoz was, after 89 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Diego Miera saved.

RKFC, bringing the final ball possession rate to 54 percent, dominated the battle.


The most dominating RKFC player was without a doubt Eric Druff. Mick Zeigler on the other hand, had a terrible day.

Southside´s best player was Gustavo Romero. Zach Sepulveda on the other hand, had a terrible day.

The match ends 1 - 2.

This was the first time that I was a little angry after a hattrick game. Usually, my team is a lot worse than my opponent or a lot better. The Gunners finished tied for 1st last season and I thought that my team played well enough to win. We controlled the midfield all game long, but we were outchanced 1-4. It was a tough loss because it would have put us solidly in 4th place in the league and put the Gunners in an early hole.

Oscar Arias played his last game for the team (he will pop and be sold) and picked up two yellow cards. The 2nd card could have cost us a tie as we did not get a chance after Arias was sent off.

TRAINING


I would say it was a nice week of training. Oscar Arias popped to excellent scoring and was immediately placed on the transfer list for $550K. His agent believes that I am TL'ing him because of his red card in the last game, but I'll let him believe that. I wish him the best of luck wherever he moves on to play next.

We sold (F) Oscar Arias for $550K. He was bought by 1FC Colonia, a series IV. team in Chile. During his career for the Royal Knights, Oscar scored 3 goals in 14 competitve games and averaged 2 stars.

With an open training spot and some cash we made a purchase. Ture Qvist comes from Leifer N FC, a series V. team in Norway.

By my calculations, he is a mid to high passable and should pop in the next 2-3 weeks. With that said, I think it was a good purchase, but I'll let the critics decide.



With the rest of the money, The Castle of Champions saw its first major upgrade. The arena is currently going through reconstruction to turn the 8000 seat stadium into a 20,000 seat stadium.

2 weeks ago we beat Shadowboxers 5-3 on the road and last week we were dominated by Cougs 0-5. We will lose again this Sunday to Cougs at home and I hope that the Midtown Metros can at least force Shadowboxers into a tie or else I will be back in 6th place.
