So my wife and I are kicking back on Halloween night (Sunday), after a long day of excitement, candy, and trick-or-treating in the rain with our young son. It was a rainy evening in the St. Louis area. We were sitting on the couch and watching one of those ghost shows – I think it was on the Travel Channel. Haunted hotels, or creepiest destinations, or something like that.
Anyway, mere moments after the narrator had described this ghost/poltergeist activity in an inn somewhere in New England, including lights popping on and off, what do you think happens at our house?
The power goes OFF/ON, OFF/ON, OFF/ON in rapid succession! Startled the livin’ bejesus out of us. To add to it, my wife keeps insisting that this one electrical Halloween decoration that we have – a skull with a candelabra and flickering orange “candle” lights – never went out. She was pretty freaked, which in turn made me jumpy. It’s amazing what your imagination can start to do in such a circumstance…
