I got this:

Access to this web page is restricted at this time.

Reason:

The Websense category "Games" is filtered.

URL:

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/

I can get thru with anonymizer... but it generally slows all my web access to a crawl. So, if you see less of me around here, that's why.

same here, websense blocked.

I get an hour (in 10 minute chunks) per day.

So cold...

Is this a recent development for you? How long has websense been blocking you?

The Websense server here at my office used to block gamespy, and the front page for FOFC, but it always let me into the forums if I linked directly to them. Now, it's only with anonymizer.

I'm going to have to find a solution to this...

It's a shame too because I hear SD is bringing back the QotM during daytime hours.

First time yesterday.

I work for EMC.

Guess Websense updated their filters :/

Same thing for me from work, the firewall filters all URL:s with "game" in it, but I looked up the IP adress instead, and this link gets me in:

I'll try it...

But I think it does a reverse DNS. :D

I think you are correct.

"dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/" used to be categorized as "General: Dynamic Content" (a label used for most message boards). It is now categorized as "Games."

My research tells me this happened sometime yesterday... I am a server admin at my office, and I was able to peek at my own websense log (scary the kind of stuff they can track here).

You can go to www.websense.com and suggest a change to their database back to the original designation. I did... I don't know if it will work, but if more people do it, perhaps it will have the accepted result?

I already tried the IP thing... no luck.

Only anonymizer lets me thru... and, frankly, I'm shocked websense isn't blocking that already...

FN,

I went to websense and suggested they change it. Hope it helps.

Where on the site did you do that? I suppose under support, but I don't see anything obvious there...

I love websense, we use it at work. Good thing my brother in law is the security guy, I get blocked by websense but I have a hole in the firewall that allows me to VNC into my home pc and surf the web from there all day :)
