...in training.

After GK training for a long time, winger will be my training preference for now.
I'm only going with three for now, fourth will come later plus 2 wingbacks.
I'll go ahead and cross my fingers for now.

Roster will be downsized, already placed 3 vets on the list, skills aren't much to speak of, maybe somebody can use them.

I'm really excited about this new direction in training, even if it costs me my recent promotion to iv.53, I can always come back up.

Good luck, Wingers is fun to train (but depressing when facing all those teams with wingers to the middle)

A local boy from YS trying to make good. Will do for now until a younger one is found. Will try to get him to solid, but that would be streching it.

The coach will now throw away all training books regarding GK, all focus now will be winger. New assistants have arrived, while old ones are now hunting for new jobs.
2 keeper and 8 assistants are set in place.

I might even go with 9 assistants and 1 keeper, for a little bit better training, but still want to keep my supernatural goalie in tip-top form though.

hey tucker, out of curiosity how long did it take u to have a supernatural goalie, and about how many stars a game do u get from him?

I pulled him as a 18 yr old solid in week 16 of season 22 on 12-28-03.
He was 4th keeper on roster at the time, so didn't start receiving training until start of season 23.
He should be e-t, possibly even mythical, but missed about 10 weeks due to overcrowding back then.

He received 7.5 stars last week in excellent form, this week though he 'll get probably 7 in solid form.

Tucker,

What is the difference between training Goaltending and having a Goaltending Coach?

Did you train your goalie with weekly training or did you give him a GT coach?

Thx!

He trained goaltending. GT coaches will not improve your keeper noticeably. They work the same as assistant coaches except with keepers instead of outfielders.

My bad,

He was pulled at end of season 21, not 22.

hey tucker, out of curiosity how long did it take u to have a supernatural goalie, and about how many stars a game do u get from him?

An example for training keepers:

17 yr old solid youth pull, 1st week of season, with solid coach, very possible to bump 3 levels every 5 weeks.

17-18 yr olds training keeper, 5 weeks
each yr older, and a week. (ex: 20 yr old solid- 8 weeks to bump)

hey tucker, out of curiosity how long did it take u to have a supernatural goalie, and about how many stars a game do u get from him? It'll have taken about two seasons plus six weeks to get my current primary trainee to supernatural (he should pop next week). He started as an 18/mid-solid.

Edit: He was five weeks/pop for both his 18 and 19 seasons.

For those who may be interested, I put up my training log from when I was training GK onto my personal webspace:
http://home.comcast.net/~copilotte/HT/gktraining.htm

Dixon took 5 weeks to hit each level from when he was 17-19 (well, he actually took 4 weeks once), with a solid coach.
My other trainees took odd times. For example, Gaither was 20 as I trained him, and it took him 6 weeks to go to formidable.

Hope it's semi-useful anyway..

I won't touch wingers with a 10' pole. They're crazy voodoo, I tell you (and by that I mean, need huge secondaries and they are a crapshoot when selling because a lot of teams prefer to run 3-4-3's with TM wingers). ;)

Those people are stupid! I hate having only one good attack :p

That's why, when switching to winger training, I bought an Outstanding & Brilliant PM, one with inad passing, the other solid. Get those 3-4-3 people a nice attack when I sell them at Magnificent+ while not sacrificing the midfield, and get those other people...well...not really sure who else buys wingers. . .nobody really....hell, who am I kidding, they'll go unsold, get trained to divine and have to be fired because nobody can take their salary on. . .
