struggling to get back to div iv again

i have solids/passable everywhere except for inner midfield where i am training them up

i have 7 million in the bank but i am losing money every week

actually i think this may help more

The fact you only have solids/passables everywhere but your training area is your biggest problem. You won't be able to compete in D4 with 8 starters who have low-end D5 skills. You need(ed) to start upgrading in other areas (a while ago). You also need to get some younger trainees as by the start of next year everyone you have will be in their 20's already.

Solid/passables just don't cut it anymore for Div IV. You need excellent/formidable to compete and outstanding + to win. Also, a dominating midfield doesn't means as much as it used to. It's still important, but you can win without them now.

I'd sell off Yong and buy up some better players. A 24 year old midfielder without any good secondaries isn't adding you much value/week as you train him. Get rid of him, unless he is about to pop. Sell him and buy yourself 2-3 formidable players. Especially a keeper.

And if you're not going to spend it on trainees, spend it somewhere, it's not going to do any good in the bank.

just to give you an idea of a div iv team. im in my first year of usa div iv and i have
outstanding forwards, goalie, and 2 inner mids
1 brilliant inner mid.
2 solid wingers.
and my defense is made up of trainees ranging from passable - brilliant.

i think i can pull off 2nd place. but i am in an extremely easy with 2 walk overs. i think i would be struggling for 4-5 in most div iv series in the USA

I'm only a midling D4 team and my starters primaries are:

1 excellent (very good secondaries)
3 formid's
4 outstanding
3 brilliant

You need to get much better basically everywhere to get back to D4.

dola, for comparisons, I'm in III in Canada, which is a tiny bit better that USA IV, and I have this for regular starting lineup:

2 formidable (defender, scorer)
1 high excellent/near formidable (winger)
2 excellent (defender, scorer)

and I have only some 400k in the bank...

I am in second place in D IV with the following:

1 World Class ( forward)
3 Magnificent ( 1 mid and 2 forwards)
1 Brilliant ( defender)
3 Outstanding ( Keeper, mid and defender )
3 Formidable ( defender and 2 mids )

This gives me a hatstat rating above 190 depending on form and TS.

Also train scoring, so I expect a couple of increases in those ratings.

I'm in VI in Spain, but i think our league is much harder than others as we have a lot of teams/divisions. I'm the leader now and probably will get the promotion to V.

My 1st team is:

Keeper: Solid
Wingbacks: 2 solid defense, one of them solid winger, the other passable winger.
Inner Middles: 1 Magnificient, 1 Brilliant, 1 Outstanding
Wingers: 2 Excellent, one of them passable PM, the other Inadecuate PM
Strikers: 1 Excellent and 1 Formidable, both inadecuate on passing.

Obviously, I'm looking to upgrade my last two defenders next.

Amen. When i was floating around with $5M in cash earlier this year, I was earning ~$25K per week from 4 economists. Money very well spent.
