keeper level + us divisions

I can't by any means answer from experience, but my survey of three sets of the top three teams of three random IV teams yielded teams with goalies yielding usually 4.5-5 stars, 1 had a 3 star goalie, and another had a 6 star, but those were the outliers. Didn't have time to look at higher divisions. If you're interested in a brilliant keeper (5 stars in good form), I have one on sale listed in the formidable and up thread (yes, blatant pimping of my guy :) ).

in a pretty strong IV.1, i have a very high outstanding GK, and he's either the 2nd or 3rd best GK in the series...i'd imagine it obviously varies a lot in IV as to the level of GK people have, but i think high outstanding/low brilliant is certainly more than sufficient...then again, i also have a Defensive Coach, so that's something that needs to be taken into consideration as well..

Not to sound like a smartass, but whatever you can get away with. Look at your team and how it stacks up. Are you giving up too many goals? Is your goal differential lower than it should be? I played my first 2 seasons in 4 with a high formidable goalie, who for those 2 years was good, and acceptatble, as the level of competition was lower than average. I soon figured out, from some analysis that I was going to need a better one if I was going to improve. My Mag. keeper puts 5.5-6 stars and is the 2-3 best in my division now, as my division is now one of the toughest in all of D.4. I would say, for d4 right now, the average should be capable of 4-5 stars, or in the outstanding range.

I've currently got a mid-oustanding goalie but he's quickly becoming one of the weaker members of my team as I've already got 4 bril's or better in primary skills on my team and should have another one relatively soon so that only my wingers, strikers, and central defender are below brilliant.

I'm hoping to get my team up to speed next season as I sell of some guys and change training. Then promote to III the season after that. I'm going to try and find a US-born keeper in the Titan/ET/Myth range before moving up.

Dang, you turn OLD next year.

I'm looking at outstanding-ish keepers to replace my solid keeper.

I'm going to auto back to IV, it seems, and I'd like to be able to hang around...this time.

Look at it this way...going from solid to an outstanding keeper....you'll NEVER regret it. That alone pretty much tells you it's the right thing to do.

I have a supernatural keeper, whom I trained, I'm in iv.53 a very competive series and in 2nd right now.
I even knocked off the leader 2 weeks ago, although week after he won 3-0 at his place.

My roster is loaded with a bunch of vagabond older players, although now I've started training younger players for future money to get better players to eventually replace the ones I have now.

Not really, you'll just have to makeup for it with uber defenders I would suppose. :D

not if you can get away with him in your series. I have a mid-solid keeper that I bought when I first got my team. He suits me fine, is in the middle of the pack in my series and my goals against is always right near the top of the series (usually a goal or 2 behind the leader). So if you can get away with it, you can invest the money somewhere else until you HAVE to upgrade your keeper.

i ended up paying 1.85mil for an outstanding. no experience though, but what can you do?
