I have a 1.6 pentium processor, 712mb of Ram...and it's slow w/ 19 leagues. How can I speed this thing up?

Put it in the front seat of your car and drive 100 mph down the nearest freeway. Although this will have no immediate impact on your computer, it should be fun explaining to the police just why you were driving so fast.

What's the size of the db you're running? That has the most impact on your game speed. Make sure that "full detail" is unselected for all leagues. Lastly, 19 leagues is a lot to run on your processor speed.

i would try 1 league small database and all players from the nation of the league you are playing, game speeds through everything lighting quick for me, i thought of increasing the leagues but i am now spoiled with the speed

Is there a way to do that "medium database but include all the players from such and such country" thing in FM2005?

Yes, there's an option on the right of the setup screen (don't recall the actual name offhand). You can click on multiple countries to include those people without running the actual league. They put it on the setup screen this year so that you don't have to manually update any files.

you can also use a .ddt file for one click loading

The manual file update does still work if you always use the same countries.

If I do that for England...will I see the REAL players from say...the US leagues?

Slick. Thanks!

That might be something to look at then. Small database, with the full set of players from the country you are playing.

It's always real players and you would have to select to load players from the US to see them all.

If it's always real players....what players does it keep out? Players with a low reputation?

Can you add/remove leagues in the middle of a game?

Also, someone tell me the benefit of running other leagues...say the MLS if I'm playing in the EPL.

You really only need to be running other leagues if you should potentially want to scour those leagues for players (and I mean scour because all the players from the credible clubs will still be available even if you don't select those leagues) or if you would like to one day have the chance to manage a club in that league. I always like to run England, Spain, Italy, France and Holland so I can have access to jobs in those countries.

Word brotha. Thanks for the info. This helps greatly.

Anyone know how this works for regens? Will they be displayed once they reach a certain level?
