have this happen?
1 of my players(older player) dropped a level in playmaking, so I trained that skill last week, he gained it right back. Question now is, will he keep it?

How old is he? As players age, they lose skills...so there is a chance that at some point you will see older players skills decrease.
If you train playmaking, then it may maintain for a while, if you trained it for a week to level your player out, I wouldn't recommend deviating from your training schedule.

You can never know, he might've barely dropped below the skill line to the point that a half training would get him back up or he could barely be hanging onto his current level. At the same time he could keep his current level for another full year or lose more skills monday.
If there's a player in a training position that's old enough to lose skills you're just pissing money away IMHO.

IMO you should consdier yourself fortunate and sell him ASAP. It is only a matter of time before he drops again

Sell...that is if he isn't a coach candidate. You won't get much value for him, but if he's say, excellent, you'll get something. If we're talking about a solid PM...then don't bother.

I had a 36 year old pop from solid to excellent PM. Although I wouldn't use that as a benchmark.
