Awful lot of Eagles back in the locker room eating Chunky Soup.
I still believe a good quarterback is everything in the NFL. Philadelphia is doing a great job making that statement hold up tonight. That opening drive with McNabb, and then absolutely nothing without him.
There is absolutely zero incentive for Philadelphia to win this game. First, losing could slightly improve their draft position should they not reach the Super Bowl. Second, they help an inferior team possibly reach the playoffs, hurting the suddenly hot teams in Carolina and New Orleans, and third, they avoid showing even the tiniest piece of their playbook to a potential playoff opponent.

the only losers are the St. Louis ticketholders and those who wanted a game worth watching on Monday Night.

this game is a fucking joke.
That observation made me curious, so I zip over to Yahoo & check the box score. And then I check the drive chart. Now I have to admit I've watched not a single second of the game, so I'm just going by what it looks like on paper ... which is that the Eagles played McNabb for roughly one possession, didn't play Westbrook at all, and then pretty much emptied their bench in a circumstance that almost looks as though they were trying to throw the game.
And if the Rams somehow win their division, or even make the playoffs, anybody who doesn't get in because of it will owe the Eagles big time.
Like I say, it may not be that way, but that's how it looks on paper.

Trust me, it's exactly how it is. The Eagles DB's all have labels like "rookie" or "special teamer" attached to them when talked about. They've played it just as they would a preseason game.

Thank you Andy Reid for only having McNabb play 1 quarter, I owe you a beer next time you are in town!!!
(fortunately we have no football team here so it won't be anytime soon)

Seeing Tapeh go down, it's hard not to agree with Reid's decision to play this one cautiously.

The correct term these days is "differently abled" teamer.

What happened to Tapeh? I saw someone getting carted off, but missed who it was. Tapeh's whole football career has been derailed because of injuries. What a shame.

Ah the problems with Monday Night scheduling. You pick a top tier team at the end of the year and they may treat it like a don't get anyone hurt game. You pick a team that may compete for the last playoff spot at the end of the year and you could miss and pick a stinker of a team.

Say what you want about the Eagles resting their players, hello Atlanta.. but at least Martz ran the f'ing ball tonight!!!
So lemme get this straight, Jackson doesn't play at all last week against the #30 rushing defense in the NFL, tonight he uses him and BAM! we have a running game. Classic Martz. Nice fake punt by Wilkins too, great call Martz.
Oh well, lots of Eagles fans at the game tonight, I bet their glad they spent $$$$ on this game.

I think it serves MNF right what they got. I'm sure when they scheduled that game, they figured it would be a shootout with huge playoff implications for both teams.
I think they need to go back to treating it as a football game, and not some vehicle to promote every other ABC show. They also need to get rid of Madden and the whole sideline reporter concept, as well as that lame halftime practical joke segment.
Maybe its time to abandon the whole MNF football concept. Or maybe just move it to ESPN, where it won't have to be such a ratings whore.
