Any thoughts on this:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A comment Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld made during a Christmas Eve address to U.S. troops in Baghdad has sparked new conspiracy theories about the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
In the speech, Rumsfeld made a passing reference to United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to stop al Qaeda hijackers.

But in his remarks, Rumsfeld referred to the "the people who attacked the United States in New York, shot down the plane over Pennsylvania."

A Pentagon spokesman insisted that Rumsfeld simply misspoke, but Internet conspiracy theorists seized on the reference to the plane having been shot down.

People will believe anything they want, no matter how much proof you show them.

But it should entertain conspiracy buffs for decades to come...

He has a history of mis-speaking, which is what I'll chalk this one up as.

People will believe anything they want, no matter how much proof you show them.

And then there are people who will believe what ever their government tells then, no matter how little proof they show us or how much proof there is against.

Not that I read anything into his comments, the guy is clearly fried in the head.
:D

If you read it he accuses "terrorists" of actually shooting down the plan, no matter how you interpret it he did not say anything about the US having any action in it. Don't think there is any question he just misspoke, people who think other wise have to stretch what he said quite a bit to reach their conclusions.

In the days right after 9/11, I certainly believed it was a possibity that we had shot the plane down. The hearings and the cockpit tapes should pretty well put to rest any other notions regarding the demise of flight 93.

Not to mention that, honestly, it just isn't something the Government would "need" to cover up.

Exactly. At the time, maybe, because we were in mass shock and confusion. But now there is a standing order to shoot down a plane such as that one because we know first hand what they can do if we let someone use it as a weapon.

Conspiracy!!!!!!! Aliens have taken over Rumsfeld and are behind the 9/11 attacks. Not the green card carrying terrorists but the little green ones. Rumsfeld himself was on flight 93 before being beamed back to his office. He knows that flight was shot down, but by a cloaked mother ship that sumultaneously beamed him to safety and shot the plane out of the sky.

Fear everything and trust no-one. THE TRUTH IS UOT THERE!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot the most disturbing part of this. Major League Baseball is behind the entire thing. They are calling all the shots. They are scanning our minds as we spearghhhhhhhh......................
