Well, was this donation a large percentage of her total wealth, or a small one?

Does it matter? $1 million is a great donation from anyone.

I would say somewhere in between. She's not paid like Julia Roberts or anything, but I am sure she has a couple of houses scattered around the world for herself. But who cares how much it is? I dont see Donald Trump or anybody donating anything close to that.

Donald is prolly donating 24k gold toliets or something.

Michael Schumacher (forgive the spelling....the race car driver) donated $10 million today.

Well, everyone was making a big deal about how the US wasnt giving up a large % of their GNP the other day, but now that Bullock gives like 1 million, probably a small % of her net wealth, its a big fricking deal.

I agree they are "over-hyping" it. But comparing a government and a person, I just not sure that's fair.

Apples and oranges. It is still a larger percentage of her net worth than what the US gave to GNP, but that really has nothing to do with whether this is a nice gesture. And if the pub encourages other famous people to give even just for the glory, good. The help is needed and the motive will not make the money less usefull.

It's actually 10 million euros, which is around $13 million US. But who's counting. :)

Considering the US net worth is actually something like a $7trillion deficit it could be argued South Asia should give the US money, but of course I am being sarcastic here.

Considering the detroit lions as a team donated something in the neighborhood of "five figures"... wonder if that includes the decimal point

That is pathetic. However, I have no doubt that many other teams also donated trivial amounts of money (compared to how much they make every year.)

The employees of Time Warner alone have donated $146,000 in two days and the company is matching the first $500,000 and that's after the companies initial $250,000 they donated.

Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O'Neal and four other NBA players have promised to donate $1,000 for every point they score in a game later this week to help victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami.

Bob Sura of the Houston Rockets, Jalen Rose of the Toronto Raptors, and Pau Gasol and Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies also are taking part in the $1,000-per-point donations, which will be made to UNICEF.

Somehow.. i don't think the sum of money coming from bob sura is gonna help much :P

So Sandra Bullock donates a million and Kobe is donating (on a good night) $30,000 or maybe even $40,000? Guess those lawyer fees are really taking a toll.
