So, I'm using your nifty draft file editor with the latest versions of TCY/FOF. I open the .faf file I want to modify, I make a few changes, and, umm, weird things happen to the file.

Basically, I modified a player in row 881. Now, there are no players left below row 881, and row 881 now looks like this in the editor after saving it:

WashinKenyonNeK ~wwwwwwwwww 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 30465 34305 31233 30465 30465 30465 48641 35585 53249 1564 15616 512 256 0 0 0 0 2304 21248 25960 27502 29281 30575 3 Outside the US 3181 19968 9984 48641 24839 30464 30465 30465

All I've done is edit his name, height, and weight (nothing abnormal). I know I've used this utility before without any trouble... I'm wondering what's going on now... ?

You could copy the data (the whole lot) to an Excel sheet and save it as a csv. If there are errors in the data, then Jim's conversion utility should let you know. It does a much better job at checking for errors.

Thanks! I'll give that a try...

I tried... no luck.

I think the draft file converter doesn't like the non-numerical values that your utility displays for things like position, college, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot - there's some conversion that has to be done before it works in Jim's utilities. Sorry.

What values did you enter in row 881 to make the file unusable? Maybe I can make an educated guess on what's wrong.

All I did was change the player's name to "Kenyon Hughes."

I'd like to make more changes than that, but even that change fails.

Also, I get errors whenever I try to change the college name - no matter what name I enter.

"Kenyon Hughes."

Including the period mark?

No, not including the period mark.

I can check it out, if you email me the original file (3ric AT bigfoot com) without the error, then I can see what happens in the program code when I change player 881 to Kenyon Hughes.

Done.

See if it gives you any grief for changing any of the college names, too.

Thanks!

Got the file, and tried to edit that player, and same thing happened to me. Sure looks like a bug, and I'll see if I can fix it...

Ok. Thanks.

I'm doing a 2005 draft file now - similar result. And whenever I try to change a college name, even to one I know is valid, I get "Sorry, the value entered is not allowed." Then, a numerical value takes over the cell. I can't even change it back to the original entry.

Weird. This worked so well a year ago.

Dola... and the numerical value is nowhere near the number that should be assigned to the college in question.

Is the draft file created with the latest TCY patch applied - I think it is version 1.2b? Likely Jim has added some stuff to the format.

When I do help-about on my version, it says ver. 1.3 CD

So, can you fix it?
