Not sure if any of you guys have heard of it (although I am sure you management geeks like myself already have) . Supreme Ruler is war game/sim. It "encompasses Military, Economic, and Diplomatic elements in a Real Time / Turn-Based Strategy Game".
I have just been selected as a beta tester for this game and the one thing I can say is that this game is simply HUGE and the depth of this game just unbelievable.
Here is their home page;

Battle Goat Studios?? WTF is that. That just...sounds weird. Checked out the website...game looks interesting. When it's done and the demo is out I suppose I will have the time to give it a whirl at least. Maybe it can be what Superpower I (& 2) wanted to be but couldn't be??

Do I get to release an army of killer battle goats on my enemy? Because if not, forget it.

SR2010 is a massive game. There were a few things that did not make it into the initial release (not sure what exactly but thats what I recieved in an email) but the features that did not make it in will be implemented into the game via an update. As far as bugs go, I had a few but no game stoppers.
If you like world domination - SR2010 will be the game to pick up. The detail in the units, economy, world market are just mind blowing. This will not be a game where you will be able to beat it in just a few hrs. I'll get back to this thread as I have a bit more time to write on it.

When it comes right down to it, is there anyone who DOESN'T like world domination?

Demo has been released unofficially by the programming lead. It seems like you can only download it using Firefox browser or an FTP-client programmer.

OK, I am not good at giving reviews so I'll pass on that. However, the game it self is very srtable but has a few minor bugs lef (which will be taken care of today in a patch along with a LOT of new additions to the game). The demo has also been updated.
Guys, this war game is not for the faint of heart. It is massive. You can start off by conquering other states/countries, ect and then if you want you can then dominate the world in the same fashion but dont expect that to be an over-night job. It could easily take a few months. I do not have a lot of time right now so please forgive the vague detail I have given but try the updated demo and I think most of you people here who are into war sims will be impressed.

see the left side of the site for the demo.

just looked at it for a few minutes, it seems OBSCENLY detailed. Ridiculous. Wonderful! If I can get accustomed to the "wonky" graphics and what the all mean it'll find a place on my list.

so this game similar to hearts of iron and Europa Universalis II style?
The game looks great, but reading the forums I see several bugs that would be pretty significant to me. Perhaps when it's patched and a little further along, I'll give it a good look.

The patch was supposed to be released yesterday. :confused:
As far as the bugs, I wouldn't call them show stoppers at all. In fact, this war game is very playable.
jb, this game is nothing like hearts of iron and Europa Universalis II as it is vastly much more detailed. Believe me when I said, "This game is massive". ;)

The graphics are a bit different from other war sims but the world is very accurate in terms of where countries, rivers, lakes, ect..ect, are located. I am very pleased to have been aprt of the beta team as BG was a great company to work for. :D

the map details should be pretty accurate considering the map consists of sattelite images

The impressions on Octopus Overlords (RIP Gone Gold) seems fairly positive. Economic seems to be a huge part of the game but apparently they have cabinet members who can do the work you don't want to for you. Supposedly the demo is good but the tutorial sucked.
Oh, and there seemed to have been quite a few complements about the battles part.

I know I have not commented on this game much but since I saw that this war sim was also brought in another thread I won't say to much but other than huarez, eaglesfan27 - has anyone else actually picked this title up?
The depth in the game is simply amazing. EaglesFans27 pretty much sums it up in this thread here;
http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=39915&highlight=SR2010
Currently, I am trying to update the graphics as far as buildings and other facilities, ect. but am having some issues. I will be replacing the current buildings with more realistic ones that (IMO) respresent the buildings and what they are used for more accurately.

Hey team,
I am looking at picking this up (haven't quite approached the how yet) and was wondering about the scope of the game? My first impression is that it is a world domination game, but from my digging around it appears that you can only dominate the world one region at a time. Is this correct? Can you actually take a small nation in the world (lets say New Zealand hehe) and attempt to conquer the globe, or do you only get a crack at Australia etc.
Cheers,
kiwiDE57
