View Full Version : How To : Create a Historical League ??

OK little help needed....

I downloaded the historical league/draft files and unziped them but here is my questions....

#1 how do you start a New Historical league in the game, I assume you have to put the .fdt file somewhere??

#2 as you go forward how do you install the draft files each season ( .faf files )

1. when you start a new game, chose the option to start with an alternative file. It will then ask you for the .fdt file.

2. every offseason right before you begin free agency, you will see an option to "import draft." It will then ask you for the .faf file.

Thanks ... time to recreate history .. LOL

Oh another thing, if I start this as a solo league and sim thru say 1990 can I stop at that point and change it to a mulitiplayer league?? Than just continue forward as an online league importing drafts as we go..IE 91-92-93 ect.

Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to convert a solo league into multiplayer.

How is everyone handling the fact that there has been expansion since say 1990? Or does the game actually have that built in?

Ie - in 1990 there were only what 28 teams? Now there are 32.

In the HFL, we kept the Jags and Panthers, and added the Oilers and Baltimore Colts back into the game to get us back to 32 teams.

You're stuck with 32 forever. No way around it...

is there any way to take the roster file from a MP league and start a solo league out of that?

You can load the game as commissioner, then turn off all the other teams so that they're computer controlled. It then becomes an MP league with 1 human.
