Defend FOFC from ferocious 5-year-olds! (game)

Spurred by this classic thread (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=37395), here’s a little game of survival I threw together. It’s all intended as good fun, so don’t take offense at the carnage. I have no idea how it'll play out.

FOFC is represented by a large, circular room with 12 doors. The doors are positioned evenly like the numbers of a clock, and also correspond to the months of the year (January = 1, February = 2, etc.).

The game is turn-based. There can be a maximum of 12 FOFC defenders in the room per turn; there can be fewer. Each door may only have one defender at a time, and that defender’s FOFC “Join Date” month must match that of the door. The first person from that month to post in the thread is the initial defender for their door; a waiting list will be kept for replacements.

Since a totally un-scientific survey of responses in the original thread suggests that a typical FOFCer can take on at least 30 five-year-olds in hand-to-hand combat, this will be our starting point. Each odd-numbered turn, 6d10 kindergarteners will advance through each door. That’s a 10-sided die rolled six times for each door. Each even-numbered turn, 5d10 will attack each door.

Game turns progress as follows:

1. The number of attacking children is determined on a door by door basis. This is posted by me.

2. Each defender must post their level of energy they wish to expend defending their door. This can range from rest (1 point), light (2), moderate (3), energetic (4), and extreme (5). The only limit is that you cannot expend more than 6 points of energy in back-to-back turns. The chosen energy number is multiplied by a d20 roll to determine the number of attacking children incapacitated for that turn. Any excess is lost. However, when assigning energy (i.e., before the roll), a defender may assign any number of potential points to an adjacent door by stating, “Assign X points to (whichever month) door” or by stating, "Assign any excess points to X door."

3. The remaining children attack. A d6 is rolled for each; all children inflict either zero (on a roll of “1”), one (“2-5”), or two (“6”) points of damage on the defender. A defender is incapacitated with 50+ points of damage.

4. Children coming through undefended doors spill out equally to each adjacent door.

5. New defenders may be placed but only at unblocked doors (i.e., those without any remaining children). The help of adjacent defenders may be needed to unblock a door. A weakened defender may also be replaced by another defender of the same month, but the door must be unblocked, and the subsequent energy level can be no higher than “moderate” (3).

Gottimd, I can't see any reason not to send your excess to one of your neighbors. Basically, if you manage to beat down your little mob of children, you can use any extra "damage" that you rolled to help a neighboring door beat their kids down.
