View Full Version : Double-Teaming A Wide-Receiver

Hey all,

I've been trying to figure this out, and all of the research I've done (reading threads and such) says that, if I want to double-team the "top" WR for an entire game, I must do the following :

Look at which receiver is getting the most attempts thrown his way. That is the "top" wide-receiver. I set him to a 99 (not 100) double-team rating, and set the other one (the "second" WR i.e. the one getting the second most passes thrown his way) to zero.

Is this correct? I haven't been able to find anything which tells me this concretely. Thanks in advance; this has been a kinda frustrating point of understanding the system.

Like most things FOF, even if you put in 100 for "double team top WR" - you wouldnt double team him every play, but you would double team him more than the average team would. At least thats my vague understanding of how it works.

Id like to know what exactly a double team does? Does it increase the chances of any or all of the following... a defended pass, a INT, a drop, a penalty...?

One thing ive noticed about the double team is that it really depends on how good the CB you are using on that WR is. For instance, if you have a Excellent LCB set to be matched up vs a Excellent FL, the game will generally set your RCB to Cover Weak Side 100%. So that leads me to believe Double Team is used to compensate for a CB thats weaker than the WR its supposed to cover.

The weaker the CB vs WR = Double Team proportionally goes up
The stronger the CB vs the WR = Double Team proportionally goes down

Id love to hear other peoples ideas on this, the help file is vague on what Double Team can or cant accomplish.

You think it goes by attempts? I've always assumed it went by current rating.
