Were you nervous when you took this? The days leading up to it?

I have to wake up in about 6 hours and take my ACT and I just got home from a double-header and the most I can think about is that wow, I have to sit somewhere for 4 hours and then go play another baseball game. Not even worried about the test at all. Just kinda always thought that when the days leading up to it, I would be nervous. At the start of the week i wasn't even thinking about it. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I studied for it, and knew I was fairly well prepared. I had done well on my PSAT as well. As a result, I wasn't worried at all. Good luck tomorrow.

Honestly, I didn't study before I took the ACT and had no idea what would be on it. I scored a 31 anyway.

I wasn't nervous at all either. I pretty much knew I would do well on it and if I didn't I could take it again.

However, I didn't study or practice for the ACT at all and had no idea what would be on it. It showed too since my scores got better with (almost) each section as I got used to the pace. I got a 25 on the first section because I ran out of time, 32s on the next two sections, and a 36 on the last section.

My mom scraped together money for a very old PC when I was a teenager, and bought me a SAT program. If someone is really concerned about getting a scholarship, I highly recommend studying in some way for the SAT. I believe that program helped add at least 200 points to my SAT Scores. However, you can always take it again (assuming you have time before college applications are due.)

I always went over a practice/old test the night before while watching a college basketball game on TV. The whole thing for me was mindset...I just wanted to go through the test and know that I could get every answer right. I never got all the answers right, but that mindset helped me through it and never got me nervous when I was running up against the clock.

The only test I ever did worse than I really thought I would was the SAT II when I took it the morning of OU-Texas in Mesquite, TX, so that I could take the test and go to the game in the same day.

Just do the practice SAT in the time alotted to get used to the feel of the test and you should be set.

I took a light prep course for ACT/SAT through my high school.

I remember being nervous the night before, and even the morning of, but I was able to get a 36 on the ACT. As long as you feel relatively prepared you will be fine. Also, is this the 'real' ACT or the Prairie State Exam?

You want to keep up a decent pace. If you find yourself spending too much time on a problem, skip it. I know it sounds basic, but as long as you are smart about your time allocation you will be OK. Good luck fellow Illinifan!

A perfect score? I thought I was good getting a 32...

I always kicked ass on the math, so I just had a verbal tutor. Helped me out a decent amount. Got a 1420 on the SAT...740 math, 680 verbal. Should be noted, for you older guys, that the test was much easier when I took it (~5 years ago) than it was, say, a decade before that. They added some stuff recently to make it tougher.
