Wisconsin's was this Saturday. I was not in attendance, but apparently it was just like last year's game, with the defense way ahead of the offense.

- Brian Calhoun, RB who transferred from Colorado, was apparently very impressive.

- There is apparently NO QB competition at Wisconsin. The job is Stocco's - Tyler Donovan (for some reason unloved by the coaching staff) played badly, and Savage I think has some sort of injury (or is recovering). Stocco played pretty badly Saturday, as well, and only really had one good game last year, so this does not look like a position of strength.

- Marcus Randle El could be our leading reciever this year.

Ohio State's is coming up this Saturday. I'd expect a QB controversy and a debate for who is the starting RB come Saturday evening.

I would go but we have a double header, winner will likely win the league championship.

I heard that the Gophers are ready for another season and another perfect nonconference record followed by a couple of easy Big Ten wins (to get the Rose Bowl talk started), then A FUCKING LOSS TO MICHIGAN and a total collapse of the season.

Not that anyone cares...

But I went to William and Mary's the first weekend in April..

Replacing the Payton Award winning QB will not be easy, but we have 3 very good young players (two sophomores and a red-shirt freshman)... There appears to be a front runner, and he has a solid arm.. but I question his decision making..

Overall they looked good.. defense looked better than it has in quite some time. Maybe we can take that extra step and make it to the finals this year.

Tennesse was Saturday, with only an Offense vs Defense game due to player shortage caused by the combination of suspensions & injuries. Several youngsters (Fr. & So.) looked good, not many questions answered tho.

How did the Clausen vs. Ainge battle look?

UConn's was on Saturday, the running attack looks good, with Terry Caulley joining 1st team Big East RB Cornell Brockington. (Caulley was leading the nation in rushing when he suffered an injury against Virginia Tech in 2003)

The defense was again ahead of the offense (as it was last year) with the Linebackers again looking very strong (despite the loss of two starters). RFr. QB D.J. Hernandez looks like he needs more seasoning. His competition for the job Jr. M. Bonislawski did not play in the game.

Overall it did nothing to dispell my belief that 5-6/6-5 is likely in UConn's future for next season.

NC State had theirs Sat and judging by reactions, it's one of those dilemmas that drives fans nuts. Apparently the d-line is superb, but people wonder if it's because the o-line is horrible. In the same breath, they wonder if Jay Davis or Marcus Stone truly suck at QB, they suck because of the o-line, or the d-line is really that good. Naturally, the board is being very combative about it.

Well, I didn't go to OU's this past Saturday, but I did read about it. From all accounts, defense dominated the day.

Dusty Dvoracek, who was recently reinstated to the team after treatment for alcohol addiction, apparently tore his bicep and had surgery early Sunday to repair it. The surgery went well, and he's expected to miss the first few games.

As for the Quarterback competition, word is that all three (Bomar, Thompson, Grady) looked very mediocre, made mistakes, and repeatedly failed to move the ball. All indications are that it will be a race between Bomar and Thompson, but it won't be decided until the Fall in all likelihood.

OU has a lot of players to replace, and a few guys played really well. Clint Ingram looks like a playmaker at middle-linebacker, in the tradition of Calmus and Lehman hopefully. The secondary has some big holes, but the coaches have been encouraged by Onyenegecha's (sp?) progress as well as Darien Williams at Safety.

Offensively, the wide receivers are young, and I saw some of them drop some balls they should have caught. Combine that with a vulnerable offensive line, and OU has a lot of work to do.

Of course, Adrian Peterson didn't play, and the offense will look a lot different when he returns.

Overall, this is just a very young team with more question marks than I can remember the Sooners having in recent years. Nobody should expect them to come close to the National Championship this year obviously, but there is some young talent out there, and it'll be fun to watch them progress.

UTEP doesn't have theirs until Friday, but it appears we have a QB battle on our hands. Last year's starting QB, Jordan Palmer, has a bad elbow and has had some troubles throwing the long ball this spring while WSU transfer Chris Hurd has apparently looked very good.

Our defensive line is apparently looking spectacular, our linebackers look very good, but we're thin at that position and can't afford any injuries, and Tyler Ebell looks like he has the starting RB spot all wrapped up.

Only real place where we have issues is the OL, where we have several injuries and it looks like we might be starting a couple of RS freshmen...

Today's doubleheader has been cancelled so I can watch the Ohio State Spring Game on ONN at 1:30. Sweet :)

Florida State's offense sucks... and Wyatt Sexton will start although he is less talented then Xaiver Lee and Drew Weatherford. Oh and Bobby Bowden won't ever fire his son who continues to do what no team could do during the "Dynasty" years and that is destroy it. We will lose to Miami again and I am sure my fellow Nole fans will find excuses. :(
