My Dad has worked very early morning shifts for forever. One morning, around 5AM he had an insulin reaction at a 7-11. A cop came in and almost cuffed and arrested him, luckily he had a medic-alert bracelet.

Unless I missed it in the article, I wonder if that women was wearing one of those medic-alert bracelets.

Its like Chris Rock said, "If you don't stop for the police and they have to come get you, they are bringing an ass-kicking with them."

Some of you know that Rudy Allen (http://www.augustachronicle.com/stories/090597/fb_mike.html), former Tech QB, is a first cousin of mine who grew up about 10-15 houses down from me. Rudy is also a diabetic. He had a diabetic reaction while driving once, and was pulled over for erratic driving. Fortunately, the cop who pulled him also grew up on our street and knew Rudy was a diabetic and that he didn't drink at all. Instead of taking him to the station, Dunlap took him to a nearby convenience store and bought him a candy bar, and he was fine.
That being said, it is an unfortunate situation when a diabetic reaction occurs while driving. I'm not sure I could fault a cop for thinking that the driver was drunk.
