OK, I got this guy to up in PM last week. I switch at the end of this season (ie in 16 weeks roughly). Would I be better selling him now (I put him on TL for 2M) or getting him an extra level of PM (where the excellent on winger might not increase resale value by much).

Ideas ?

Got your ht-mail Alf. Brilliant PM could be a selling point, seems like my threshold is more at brilliant than at outstanding nowadays. Not sure it's helping you much though...

I think that it depends on how much you need the money right now. Am I assuming that he is going to be half-trained? If that is the case you might want to take the cash now. I wouldn't really want to run into a situation where I might need to carry my training over because someone I need to sell just hasn't moved up the next level.

One thing about keeping him though is that you will probably realize a better profit at brilliant than you would at outstanding. It comes down to how you want the use the money now, but I wouldn't be afraid to let him go, especially for 2 mil.

Thanks guys. I can wait. No need for money or upgrade now. I'll play him a few games at IM to get him some 100% training since I will mix 50-100 on some players to have them up at roughly the same time. Anyway, if he sells at 2M, that's good too.

Second question then. Most brilliant IMs go for 2M these days. Would my guy fetch a bit more ? Any idea on a price.

After some quick research, I have found 5 players who are for sale. They have starting prices from 2.2 up to 3.3mil. The main factor seems to be how high their other secondaries are. There is one player for sale who ends 00:02 HT on the 20th, with a bid of 1.275mil. One thing that your player has on all of them is that he is the youngest by 3 years. That help your resale a bit.

Well, my guy has 2 wretched secondaries (passing and def). Sucks he :). And I don't know if his "Technical" speciality helps or hurts.

I'll do my own market research and bookmark the same type of guys (outs + excellent and brillaint + excellent) to get a better understanding of prices.

yeah.... those off/def secondaries are gonna kill his price. Even though he's an excellent winger, he's really no better then a solid winger with weak passing, or ever a passable winger with passable passing(more or less). I'd dump him now and train someone else.

But thats just me :)

I don't believe that the standard 2-1 passing-main skill function works for wingers. The reason is this. Wingers Offensive increases winging...unlike offensive PM which increases passing. The correlation falls apart, so the level of wing is far more important than the level of passing.

maybe... im not a winger trainer so i could be wrong.

But my Brilliant winger with weak passing, usually only gives me 1 more level(old ratings) of attack on his side, then my formidable winger with passable passing does on the other side.
