I had to buy a new computer and now want to reinstall FOF 2K4. Should I go through ViaTech to download? I have the receipt ID. I don't think I can just download the FOF 5.1c update. Any help???

I think you need to contact Viatech directly. I had the exact same situation a couple of weeks ago and have yet to hear from their incredible customer service.
you can just download the game file thats in the reference thread. it is the complete game, so just put in your purchase ID after downloading and it'll work.

The motherboard died on the old machine so I never did get a chance to unlicense, but I guess I should have a second license.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the solecismic site doesn't have the entire download for reinstall?

No it looks like I have a problem...
When I launch the application for install, I get a message in a window:
16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\Windows\system32\autoexec.NT
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.
My other machine ran XP so I am surprised that there's any kind of conflict. Has anyone else seen this?

i think that is the same problem i had. you just have to install some file and it's fixed. there is info in the FAQ at solecismic, I believe.

I had that problem. I just had a friend with a computer send me that file from their computer in an email, and I placed it in that same directory:
C:\Windows\system32\
and it worked fine.

It must be totally hit or miss. I think I have had reason to contact them maybe three or four times over the years (including last week) and have never been left waiting -- last week they returned my email request in one day, with a complete resolution of my request (a license reset, as I suffered a hard drive crash and was re-installing).
Odd... maybe I've just been lucky.

Odd... maybe I've just been lucky.I agree. I can't imagine this is typical of their support - 3 weeks without a response. I wrote back today using the original trouble ticket # - hopefully I'll get a response.
