View Full Version : Interesting Board Facts (last 250 threads)

OK, I'm bored today so I was looking at the most popular threads in terms of views over the past 5 pages of the board (roughly 250 threads). Not suprisingly, barring the random Brittney thread or girlfriend saying 'hi' thread/guy striking out thread, most of the threads with >1000 views revolve around computer games or television shows. I found the popularity of some of the threads rather interesting though.

Some things I found interesting:
- I had no idea Baseball Mogul (or is it Skydog) was that popular. Far and away the most viewed 'active' thread for games.
- Baseball takes the top two computer/video game spots (probably a function of baseball being in season).
- Online games, especially free ones (x-kings, shot-online golf etc..) remain very popular on the board
- For as much fun as we make of FOF being 'off topic' anymore, there are still 5 FOF related active threads at the top in views with ~20,000 views combined. Not bad considering a new version hasn't come out in a while.

In the television arena, I'm suprised (well saddened) that American Idol appears to be the board's favorite show, nearly tripling the next competitor (Lost) in terms of views. I suspect that this reflects the younger age of the board more than anything (or else a lot of female lurkers).

Anyways, Here's the numbers just for discussion:

'Active' Game Threads (views)
Baseball Mogul - 25,906
MVP 2005 - 10,724

This is funny since most of the people posting in this thread are probably guys in their upper 20's or older. It's probably because our significant others make us watch it. :D

I was bored, but not that bored to go back further than 5 pages. But a quick check shows Omerta has 18,065 views (suprsingly still short of Baseball Mogul).

What about the Hot Teacher thread. It's a crying shame that it's fallen so low.

While the Baseball Mogul and MVP threads have lots of views, they are also very old since they were started in Late February / Early March so have nearly 3 months worth of views.

I've done my best to keep that thing afloat. The rest of you are slackers. And FN appears to have discontinued his Google News email alerts...

True, but the fact that they're still 'active' is impressive - of course baseball season is still going on. The one that suprised me though was Baseball Mogul as I've casually heard of it, but it's not a game that I've even bothered to look into. Maybe it's just me.

Dola,

That was a shameless bump by Detox - still only 18K or so views. How can Teacher Pediphiles not be more popular than Baseball mogul?

I think that FM may be up there, it's just in multiple threads... or did you count that?
