View Full Version : Ugliest Athelete of all time

Karlifornia
05-26-2005, 02:47 PM
There have been a lot of professional athletes. Some could pose for GQ, most are average, and then we have a few special ones that could wear the crown for being "THE UGLIEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME". Let's meet the candidates:

Otis Nixon- Poor Otis. When he was 25, he looked 50. When he hit 30, he looked about 65, and when he hit 40...hoo boy. Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised to find out Otis was a mummy that had reanimated and unwrapped himself.

Dan Gadzuric-Now, if there was a player who looked like he came from another galaxy, it would be Gadz. His eyes are in a constant Wilbanksian state, and his limbs fly around on the court as if they are not even attached to his body. Gadz needs a total makeover.

Kirk Hinrich-He has the face of an inbred, the ears of an elf, and the hair of someone who went into SuperCuts and asked "Make me look like Ringo circa 1960".

Willie McGee-See Otis Nixon

Bill Walton-Well, a horse is a horse of course, of course.....

Rod Beck-Ok, maybe he's not THAT bad, but would you want him taking your daughter to the prom?

Tracy McGrady-Man, you think it's hard for you to look at him? Imagine how hard it is for him to look at you . Literally. Lazy, diverging eyes.

Ok, who else is there?

I guess Pippen is ok if you believe nose size is correlated to . . . other things. Otherwise, he defines being hit over the head by the ugly stick.

After Princess Bride, though, he just looked cuter. I'm not sure the same thing can be said for My Giant, but when ugly athletes appear in movies (not about sports), it softens them a bit. Pippen, on the hand, could only play the role of "Really Ugly Guy #4" in a major movie.

When I read this thread title I immediately thought, I wonder what Willie McGee is up to anyway.

If we are going with an all-ugly team its hard not to pick the 85-86 Celtics. Larry Bird, Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish. That's world champion ugly. Its almost like they picked these guys based on how ugly they were. Don't forget Bill Walton coming off the bench.

Did the Elephant Man ever play any organized sports? Because if he didn't, then the list starts at george Muresan. If this contest contest includes a spoken word element, then Muresan wins by a mile.

From the Paul Shirley blog:

While I am no male model, I am not going to make anyone’s All-Ugly Team anytime soon. (Incidentally, my version of this year’s team has two members from Minnesota, one from the Milwaukee Bucks, one from the Warriors and one from the Portland Trail Blazers. In the interest of not getting the [crap] kicked out of me, should I actually play in a game against one of these teams, I will keep the exact identities to myself.)

Can we guess them all? I'll take Cassell and Sprewell from Minnesota, Gadzuric from Milwaukee, Dunleavy from the Warriors. There are a lot of ugly bastards on the Trailblazers, but I'm gonna go with Nick Van Exel

I'm betting the second Minnesota guy is Ervin Johnson rather than Spree. I love Erv, we have the same alma mater and he's a great guy, but he's an ugly dude. No way to sugarcoat it.
